Beliefs
My Beliefs
My Beliefs stand thus. I am a Celtic Pagan, what that means is usually up to the person reading this. I revere nature, Goddesses, Gods, the sparks of divinity in every human being. My pantheon contains mainly Irish Goddesses and Gods. Each one has a specific duty or specialty. I also pray to a nameless Goddess and God, as I said I am very eclectic. I usually am a very peaceful person and usually don't condone violence but I do believe in protection if it is necessary. I place a great amount of importance on family, they have my loyalty before all others. I am a solitary pagan, meaning that I am not part of a coven. I believe that in certain ways beliefs and rituals are a very private thing so I am not going to go into anymore of what I believe. I want you, the viewer to be able to form your own opinions, I just want to be able to give you a starting point on your journey.
My Purpose
As stated above, I want to have you form your own opinions and help you find a starting point. I will give some basic information, some links that have helped me, and maybe a pointer or two. I also will include a few spells if they strike your fancy. I personally don't use them much if at all. My purpose is for you to be able to get the most information that you can so you can formulate your beliefs into what suits you, because that is what is the most important.
The Myriad
There are a myriad of beliefs out there and wading through them can sometimes be tiring and sometimes treacherous, so I will give some basic definitions and some terms. Also I wish to point out:
"Beware the person who says that their belief is the one true belief"
There are many beliefs out there and each in their own way valid.
Beliefs:

Coven: A group of pagans, usually with a hierarchy, although some don't. They usually have a high priestess and high priest. It is all dependent on the tradition and the group.
Druidic Traditions: Traditions referring to an ancient priestly class of Celts. They were scholars, writers, poets, and royal advisors. Now there are modern societies of druids, they still follow the forms, see the links page to find out more.

Asatru (Norse Paganism): A tradition that follows the beliefs and codes of the Vikings.

Saxon Tradition: A Germanic tradition practiced by the people of Saxony.
Solitary: A person who practices alone without a coven.
Stregheria: Italian based pagan tradition.
Voudou: Another Caribbean tradition that combines West African and Roman Catholic beliefs. Many people are under the misconception that the people that practice Voudou use "Voodoo dolls," they don't actually. Check links for more info.
Wicca: A tradition based on the teachings of Gerald Gardiner. Is coven based.
