Corrina Corrina

This movie is to me very good. It is the story of a family of a father mother and child, and the mother dies, so they need a maid, and the child is so depressed that she will no longer talk. So they get a maid, but the daughter (molly (M)) hates her, and she tries to seduce the dad. So the try to get a new one and an African American lady named Corrina who is played by whoopi Goldberg auditions. She eventually gets it, and at first they dont really like her, and she is not a good cook, but the girl eventually warms up to her and begins to talk again, and be nice and happy. So anyway, Corrina is intelligent and has graduated collage, so she continually surprises the dad by talking very well about music and writing, and the dad writes jingles for companies such as Jell-O and Mr. potato head, and Corrina begins to help him. So the school year starts, and molly doesn't want to go to school so she stays with Corrina and goes to rich houses to help her clean in stead. So Corrina and the dad begin t get romantically involved, and continue to accidentally act like husband and wife. So this happens on for a while, until one day the teacher phones the dad and asks why molly hasn't been coming to school, and he thought she had been, so he goes home, finds her, gets very mad, and then fires Corrina. Right after this he finds out that his father has died. So they go to the funeral, and afterwards he realizes how much he misses Corrina, so he goes back to her house, apologizes, they make up, and the it is over

This is a very good movie, as I have said before, I dont think that the acting gets much better, and the casting is just fabulous, I mean whoopi Goldberg is a good actress, and as usual I this movie she shines thought. Ray liotta and the person who plays the little girl are also very very well cast. The skin tone of the girl and the face of the father go perfect with the character, especially the girl. The audio is very good, and the movie is set in the 60's and all of the music fits. The visual is good, the clothes and the housing that it happens in actually seems like it is happening and being filmed in the 60's even though you know it was filmed in the 90's. The plot is very good, little girl loses mom, dad hires maid, falls in love, breaks color barrier, and then there are little problems that get in the way, then a big one, but they get over them and keep going. I would definitely recommend this movie, not over and over again, but time and time again its charm and humor lasts.
