Debt

This one, on the other hand, I like lots. I had tremendous fun drawing it, it works even without knowing what the story was about (students at Bournemouth University were revealed to be among the most debt-ridden in the country, which came as a surprise to absolutely no-one who ever set foot in the refectory. “Now, shall I buy the tiny, miserable-looking blueberry muffin, or the summer house in Tuscany?”), and it’s got a big scary hulk man in it with gory tools and an insane grin saying “Brains!”, so it holds a very special place in my Big Box O’ Drawings.

Plus! As a special bonus, you can now see the cunning joke on the far left-hand side which was accidentally snipped off when it appeared in the paper. It relates to a peculiar habit of certain male denizens of the student village (the university accommodation next door to the main campus), which was to pile empty beer and lager cans in the kitchen window for no reason known to science. It is celebrated here, in the form of a rather feeble assemblage of non-name brand comedy beer containers. Enjoy!
