Library

By now I’d finished getting degreed up and was back home in picturesque Somerset, so this was my first remotely-drawn piccy. Slightly scarily, I continued to receive the details of the relevant stories with just a few days to go before deadline, which meant that there were even fewer evenings than before in which to do the darn things (once they were finished, I then had to make sure they were mailed in good time - otherwise they'd probably have had to fill the space with a large picture of some students, a consequence too ghastly to even consider). Luckily, the total absence of essays and revision meant this didn’t usually cause too many problems, although it did occasionally result in the kicking of things when I couldn’t come up with an idea.

Which brings us to this one. The story was fairly simple - the university had just announced they were going to be building a snazzy new library block, at a cost of nearly eight million (count ‘em!) British pounds - but it took me absolutely ages to think of a way to translate it into a cartoon that I found even remotely amusing. In the end this was what I went with, and I don’t think it’s too bad, really - it’s not one of the best ones, but at least it's quite picturesque.
