In a green grassy field surrounded by large feather filled
blocks stacked on top of one another and trees in full bloom with toys
dangling from their branches, a warm breeze blows. It is the Summer
Solstice; the time of year in the Digiworld when only one Digi-egg hatches
due to the intense heat, and the Prophecy. The old ancient text
concludes that only one chosen Digimon will hatch from an egg in the Summer
Solstice and be trained in the secret arts of magic. The eggs that were
scattered across one field were bathing in the sunshine and enjoying life
in the protection of their hard shell. One certain egg that was covered
with light yellow stars began to wiggle and bounce in place. It wiggled
more until a thin crack opened along the top. The crack grew around the
egg until it reached it starting point. A wiggle. A bounce, and the
whole top of the egg popped off. A baby Digimon appeared from the shell
and looked about it's surroundings. It was a yellow puff ball with
pointed ears and fluffs of fur on the end of them. It's large eyes had purple
stripes on top and bottom of them. The baby had no mouth, but from
someplace deep within a squeaky voice emerged, "Oojimon!" The broken shell
and the rest of the egg molded together to form a small brown cradle.
Oojimon laid in the cradle, tilting it's face upward to catch the
welcoming rays of sun.

Down by a clear blue stream near Primary Village hiding behind a
bush was an Elecmon. He was the twentieth generation of Elecmon to care
for the baby Digimon. Elecmon jumped high into the air and called out his
attack ,"Super Thunder Strike!" A large stream of wild electricity
drove itself into the water, killing many fish for the baby Digimon to eat.
Elecmon collected the fish from the water and put them in a net. He set
to the task of dragging the large net full of fish back to the nursery.
The sun was at it's peak in the sky and sending intense heat onto
Elecmon's back. A drop of sweat trickled down his forehead and dropped down
to the earth; evaporating almost immediately. A while later Elecmon
arrived at the Digi-nursery and stopped to enjoy the breeze that was
ruffling his soft red and purple fur. Elecmon soon herd the cry of hunger
coming from one of the babies and set to work giving each baby one fish.
Giving the last baby a fish, Elecmon heard a faint buzzing from over
head. His ears perked up. Turning slowly around, Elecmon squinted at the
sun to see a black dot flying towards Primary Village. The dot came
closer at an alarming speed and soon turned into the shape of Kuwagamon.
"Kuwagamon!"Elecmon yelled. As the adrenaline raced through his veins
only one thought was in Elecmon's head, "I have to save my babies." He
jumped up in the air towards Kuwagamon. "Super Thunder Strike!" The
electric blast hit Kuwagamon in-between the eyes. He let out a long pain
stricken roar and grabbed the worn out Elecmon with his crushing pincers.
Oojimon shuffled to the end of it's cradle and stared over the edge.
It's eyes widened when it saw Elecmon being crushed by Kuwagamon's
pincers death. "Oh, no." It whimpered in it's high pitched voice. The rest of
the babies slinked to the backs of their cradles, trying to hide from
the vicious beast that was attacking their village. Kuwagamon's pincers
tightened and Elecmon fell limp. He let go of Elecmon and flew away to
who knows where. Elecmon hit the soft ground and lay still. He turned
into pink and silver dust and was blown away with the wind. One of the
older Digi-babys hopped out of it's crib and shuffled along the ground
to go find another Elecmon to take care of the other babies. An hour or
so later the baby came back with another Elecmon who would be their new
care taker.

Oojimon soon got over the shock of Elecmon's death, but it
wouldn't be the last time it had to cope with the loss of a loved one.
The seasons changed, snow came with the Winter, flowers in the
Sping, cool breezes in the Fall, and the heat of Summer. Oojimon, after many
months of waiting, finally digivolved to Satimon. "Oojimon digivolve
to........Satimon!" Satimon was feminine and looked like a Koromon with
Yokomon's eyes, slimmer ears and more teeth. Satimon was soon encouraged
by the new Elecmon to go and join the Satimon village, so Satimon
headed off toward the hills to live her life with the Satimon village.

It had been two years since Satimon had come over the hills and into
the village. She had gotten used to seeing so many of her kind in one
place. It was, once again, the Summer Solstice. Satimon was sitting on
the edge of the water fountain in the village staring into her own
reflection. She sighed a heavy sigh. Another Satimon came up from behind
her. This Satimon was a male and much older then the rest of the others.
"What's the matter?" He asked. Satimon sighed again. "I can't
digivolve!" She moaned. "I've done it once before and now I can't do it again.
Is there something wrong with me?" "There's nothing wrong with you. It
just takes time to digivolve. Believe Me, I know. But, if I had arms or
legs I would find a way to help you digivolve!" The other Satimon
answered. "Thanks." Satimon sighed again and resumed looking into her
reflection. "Look on the bright side," He said. "Wizardmon is coming today!"
Satimon put on a puzzled look. "Wizardmon?" "No one told you?" "I don't
think anyone told me. I would have remembered something as important as
this." "All right. I'll tell you. Wizardmon is a Champion Digimon....."
"Champion!" Satimon interrupted. Her spirits sank even lower. The other
Satimon sighed and resumed telling his story. "He originally came from
this village. And every so often he will take an Apprentice to be
trained in the arts of Magic. No one knows what happened to his Apprentice.
The chosen one went off with him and never came back." Satimon
shuddered at the thought of a lost Digimon. "But he's coming today! He will
arrive when the sun is at it's peak in the sky." Satimon stared up at the
sapphire sky. The sun was almost at it's point. She glanced down at her
shadow to get a more accurate look at the time. Her shadow was almost
completely gone. "He'll be here soon." She whispered. "Don't worry!" The
other Satimon reassured her. "Wizardmon is a good Digimon. He won't
hurt you!" Satimon's friend jumped off the side of the water fountain and
headed toward the Village Square. "Where are you going?" Satimon called
after him. "To the Village Square! That's where Wizardmon will meet
us!" He answered. Satimon hopped off the water fountain and followed her
friend. The two were the last ones in the gathering crowd to see
Wizardmon descend upon the village from the sky. Wizardmon hovered above the
Satimon, carefully reading every one of their thoughts. As soon as
Satimon saw Wizardmon all of her fear drained out of her. The whole time she
stared boldly up at him, noting his capability to defy the laws of
Gravity. Wizardmon came to Satimon's friend. He fingered through his
thoughts. 'Nothing.' He thought to himself. 'There has to be someone
here............' He moved past. The other Satimon was trembling, despite how
many times that he had seen Wizardmon. Wizardmon came upon Satimon. He
began to open up her thoughts. 'Interesting............' He trailed off.
While Wizardmon was reading her thoughts like a book, Satimon gazed
into his expressionless lime green eyes. 'This is the one!' Wizardmon
rejoiced. He let go of Satimon's mind and set his feet on the ground. He
kneeled down and stared at Satimon. Satimon stared back at him.
Wizardmon's lips curled into a warm smile that no one could see. He stood back
up to his full height and picked up Satimon. "You will be my new
Apprentice." He said to her. Satimon's heart rose, but then sank. She turned
around to look at her friend. He simply winked. She winked back.
Wizardmon leaped off the ground and flew into the sky, leaving the small
Satimon Village, and Satimon's old life, behind.
