IN MEMORY OF....THE LATE AND GREAT JOHN LENNON
John Winston Ono Lennon was born in Liverpool England on October 9th, 1940 to Julia and Alfred Lennon. He was one quarter of one of the most influential rock bands of all times, The Beatles. He had a certain wit and humour about him that was caustic and slightly bitter. He had a hard life, losing many of the people that he held dearest to him and it affected him greatly. Little did he know that with three of his friends, Paul McCartney, George Harrison and Ringo Starr that he would have the ability to cause such a wonderful disturbance and in a way change the world. He was a peace activist and protested the war.

And in 1970 when the Beatles broke up some thought he would disappear completely, however he began a solo career before retiring to take care of his son Sean. In 1980 he resumed his career releasing an album entitled Double Fantasy. However his career was shortlived, on December 8th, 1980 he was shot by a crazed "fan" outside his apartment building, The Dakota where he lived with his wife Yoko and five year old son Sean. People gathered from all around the world to hold candle light vigils for him. And to this day people mourn the loss of such an amazing man and such a great talent. Heleft behind his old friends, his two sons, Sean and Julian and his wife Yoko Ono.
"Everyone who was a Beatles fan knows where they were and what they were doing the night John Lennon died. I had been working late and it was around midnight or so and I was driving home to your mum and Amy who was two at the time, the DJ came on Chum and as he spoke he was crying and then he said it, "John Lennon has been shot and killed outside of his apartment in New York, it's all over now." And I almost drove off the road...John Lennon? Dead? It's not right. And in a way he was right, it was all over...it was the end of our childhoods, the end of an important era. The end of Peace. Just the end. He was a great man and damn...I never got to meet him..." -My father. He's not even a huge Beatles fan but he loved John. My mum was sleeping...she started to cry.. she couldn't believe it either....
                                                                      QUOTES...

"You can't cheat kids. If you cheat them when they're children they'll make you pay when they're sixteen or seventeen by revolting against you or hating you or all those so-called teenage problems. I think that's finally when they're old enough to stand up to you and say, 'What a hypocrite you've been all this time. You've never given me what I really wanted, which is you."

"You don't need anybody to tell you who you are or what you are. You are what you are!"

"I believe in everything until it's disproved. So I believe in fairies, the myths, dragons. It all exists, even if it's in your mind. Who's to say that dreams and nightmares aren't as real as the here and now? Reality leaves a lot to the imagination."

"My defences were so great. The cocky rock and roll hero who knows all the answers was actually a terrified guy who didn't know how to cry. Simple."

"If The Beatles or the 60's had a message, it was 'Learn to swim. And once you've learned - swim!"
All Those Years Ago
By George Harrison

I'm shouting all about love
While they treated you like a dog
When you were the one who had made it
so clear
All those years ago.

I'm talking all about how to give
They don't act with much honesty
But you point the way to the truth when you say
All you need is love.

Living with good and bad
I always looked up to you
Now we're left cold and sad
By someone the devil's best friend
Someone who offended all.

We're living in a bad dream
They've forgotten all about mankind
And you were the one they backed up to
the wall
All those years ago
You were the one who Imagined it all
All those years ago.

Deep in the darkest night
I send out a prayer to you
Now in the world of light
Where the spirit free of the lies
And all else that we despised.

They've forgotten all about God
He's the only reason we exist
Yet you were the one that they said was
so weird
All those years ago
You said it all though not many had ears
All those years ago
You had control of our smiles and our tears
All those years ago
