Fanor
Feanor, painted in Photoshop by Aegli

Aka:
Curufinw, Fanro, Faenor, Spirit of Fire, and "THE Jerk" by Teleri

Looks: As Tolkien tells us, "he was tall, and fair of face, and masterful, his eyes piercingly bright and his hair raven-dark".  In other words, just another stereotypical tall, dark-haired, grey-eyed Noldo.

Smarts:  As he was said to be the most subtle in mind and the most skilled in hand of all Noldor, before and after, we would assume he was a great genius.  After all, he invented an alphabet, lab-grown gems, and swords.  Now that last thing makes us wonder if he really was as smart as he is said to be... The fact that he didn't listen to his wife, who was called Nerdanel the Wise doesn't speak in his favor either...

Personality: If "piercingly bright eyes" doesn't raise a flag, then we have to inform you, that he was impatient, like all spoiled children are, arrogant, all too full of himself, proud to the extent incompatible with life, and at times murderous.  Oh, and he betrayed his brothers too.  And made his sons swear an Oath that would damn them forever.  Being capable of unconditional love could be considered a redeeming quality had aforementioned love ever been directed at animated objects.

Cooking:
He was the son of the High King of Noldor.  The most favorite son of the High King of the Noldor.  He was waited on hand and foot since he was born.  While it is a fact that most good chemists are good cooks, we doubt he would lower his royal highness to making something less than a Silmaril.  Though we assure you he will be a very picky eater.  And since we feel kind, we would like to warn you to learn Indis' cooking in advance.  Don't cook anything his stepmother liked, or Fanor will decide you did it to spite him and will change into "Kinslaying" mode.

Fighting Skills: Considering that he was killed in the very first battle with Morgoth, we doubt he had any tactical or strategic skills.  Only an idiot would ride far ahead of his army and think that he will survive.  As far as his skill in wielding a sword, we  would assume it was decent, but definitely far inferior to his ambitions.  Just don't argue with him when he says that he is the greatest swordsman in the world.  Pardon, swordsELF.

Special Abilities:
Inventing everything, from palantiri to silmarili and everything in between.  He invented an alphabet, jewel-making, swordsmaking, improved great many crafts.  In other words, regardless of what he is like as a person, as a jeweler he is unsurpassed.

Competition:
His wife, Nerdanel, who, while said to be very plain for an Elf, apparently had other qualities sufficient to attract the picky and haughty Noldorin prince.  Though they separated eventually, there is no divorce, so at most you will be his mistress.  Assuming the proud Prince will even look at you twice, you puny mortal.

In-Laws: Finw and Mriel, at least one of which was dead and in Mandos at any given point of his life beyond the first few years (and we would hope you aren't interested in baby Fanor, if you are, please turn yourself in to your friendly neighborhood police officer).  Since for most of his life his father would be around, he might pose a problem if he decides you aren't good enough for his favorite son.  On the other hand, he spoiled Fanor rotten, so if Fanor will love you, Finw will spoil you as well.

Economics:
An Elf of his superior skills will be successful everywhere, just make sure his temper doesn't cause every boss to fire him in spite of everything.  Just make sure to catch him while he is in a stable environment.  Araman wouldn't be a good place to approach him if you are looking for financially secure future.

Sex:    He had more children than any Elf before or after, which definitely means well for you.  Just be prepared that sex will be when HE wants it, the way HE wants it.

Other:
We would assume that someone so used to admiration from each and every person he meets has an insatiable ego that needs constant stroking.  Beware.

Overall:
Crazy, egotistical and occasionally homicidal genius who won't stick around for long and most likely treat you like dirt.  If this doesn't discourage you, we would recommend you to try and snatch him, if only because you are guaranteed not to be disappointed with his gifts, at least, and said gifts will provide you with enough wealth to last your lifetime and beyond.  Just make sure to leave him before he becomes too dangerous.  After all, that's what his real wife did.
