Mini Bio
Ryan’s first big break came in January of 1993 when he landed a coveted role on the New Mickey Mouse Club alongside soon-to-be *NSYNCers Justin Timberlake and JC Chasez as well as Britney Spears, Christina Aguilera and Keri Russell. He was only twelve at the time. In addition to the MMC, Ryan played the starring role in Young Hercules (He was Hercules) and then played Sean in Breaker High, which was a short-lived show that used to be on Fox Family.
As he is still not very well known, he hasn’t had a huge sky-rocketing role but his biggest movie role (according to the box office, that is) was that of a ‘cool kid’ named Richard in 2002’s Murder by Numbers. That movie was originally called “Foolproof” and his co-stars were: Sandra Bullock and Michael Pitt.
From Entertainment Weekly: ‘Gosling was a Nazi- obviously conflicted (in The Believer), and not nearly as repugnant as he should have been. In the just-released Murder by Numbers, he plays the scarier half of a pair of spoiled rich kids who kill for kicks. In the movie's most memorable scene, Gosling, while strangling costar Sandra Bullock, perversely licks her face, It wasn't in the script. That is one reason we like him.’ More reasons they like him? Most of the quotes down there had something to do with it. I also think that even though we’re SUPPOSED to basically HATE his characters, it is extremely hard being that he is just so damn likeable.
At the moment, Ryan has just finished (promoting at Sundance) a movie titled The Believer in which he got lots of critical acclaim and Sundance Film Festival ‘buzz’. That movie has played on Showtime and had a limited release in theaters. There are no reports of a new movie on the horizon…yet. But The United States of Leland (in which he murders a kid with Down Syndrome- opposite Kevin Spacey) hits theatres in the fall.

Quick Facts
Quotes
"I've learned it's important not to limit yourself. You can do whatever you really love to do, no matter what it is."
"I always wanted to entertain. When I was 6, a scrawny, scrawny kid, I'd get in my red speedo and do muscle moves. I actually thought I was muscular. I didn't know everyone was laughing at me."
"Britney [Spears] and Christina [Aguilera] would come and ask me questions about sex, and I just told them what I heard- like positions and stuff. And all the mothers went to Disney and told them I was corrupting their kids....So, yes, Britney narced me out. And I feel somewhat responsible for how sexual she is right now. When I see her with a snake around her neck, I think, Did I do that?"
(LOL!!! That is priceless. Like a Mastercard commerical. One Snake: $200/ One Ticket to the MTV VMA’s: $4,000/ Ryan Gosling telling you about sex: Priceless)
"I grew up in Cornwall, Ontario, and my uncle was an Elvis impersonator. He had a mustache and no hair and a big birthmark on his face, but he was good. I played his bodyguard and I'd come on stage and hand him a teddy bear for the song 'Teddy Bear.'"
From an interview for The Believer:
“Yeah, people are saying, "Oh there is so much buzz," but I have never personally heard any of this ‘buzz.’”
"After Mickey Mouse Club got canceled, I was on a show called Road to Avonlea and that got canceled. Then I did Young Hercules and that got canceled. As I keep talking you'll see a pattern. I'm the kiss of death."
“It’s cool, right? It’s, like, rocking, right?” -as Alan in Remember the Titans
“Yes! This one. I mean, I don’t even has to ask but, I will. What do you think of this one?” -as Alan in Remember the Titans
“The movie builds up to that scene, and I just felt like something was missing. So I just asked her, 'I think I'm going to lick you.' I felt disgusting about myself afterward. But I think it worked."
"There are no numbers in the movie; I don't know why the called it Murder by Numbers. We had a pool going for the title on the set- I felt like that was a bad sign. For a while they changed it to Foolproof. I hated that, too. With a title like that you really open yourself up to critics- you know 'Foolproof is not quite foolproof.' I went to see a movie the other day and they had a trailer for Enough with Jennifer Lopez. I was like, 'Ech, enough already with Jennifer Lopez.'" (I fully agree, I am so sick of her and thank God for a guy actually saying that.)
"After the last movie I did [the just-completed The United States of Leland, in which his character murders and autistic boy] I got sick. I went to the doctor, and after talking to me he said I wasn't sick. He pulled out his prescription pad and wrote down: 'Try a light comedy.'" (I wish he would, too, because that would rock. My mother thinks I‘m weird for liking him because he‘s quote: “A murderer!”)
"I'm making this record in my house, and I may release it when I'm 45. That's my goal as far as music's concerned."
“It's hard to wrap my head around the fact there may be a fan base out there beside my mother.”
Okay, after reading all those quotes? Yeah, just try and tell me he’s not the cutest thing ever. Seriously. I’ve never said ‘cutest thing ever’ before, but it fits him.

I found a lot of stuff on Ryan, it just took me a long time to do it. There is a serious lack of new Ryan sites w/ new info.
