8:14 PM PST
Whoo! First day of Comic-Con: awesome as usual. I need
to hang up my wallscrolls; I'll do that as soon as I finish recounting
how the day went.
Anyway. I was supposed to meet Alex (Fuzzy-baka... XD;;) at
10:30 near the hall to the anime rooms to drop off part of his Shuichi
cosplay, but we ended up coming later than that... Dad took an hour to
get ready, because he "forgot" I was supposed to meet Alex. -_-;;
So I ended up being dropped off at CC (all alone and lonesome,
T_T) at around eleven-ish. It took a bit for me to get the receipt
thing sorted out (since I didn't get it in the mail and all), but one
of the helper people showed me to a line where you just give your name
and ID... anyway, the REAL fun came when I got inside.
Oh, wow... It's just awesome. The entire feeling of a con - it's
not loud, but there's constant noise, and it's gigantic, so you
could easily get lost, but not crowded, and if you look around... you
probably don't see anyone you know. Really, really cool. I got a couple
compliments on my Ed cosplay (even thought I forgot one glove at home
and the wig wasn't cooperating with me... *sweatdrops*), and I pretty
much wandered around and hit the major retailers first, picking up a
giant bag from the Tokyopop booth and buying the last Gravi, as well as
subscribing to their free manga magazine thing. =^^= Then it was off to
Viz, to pick up the samplers and the like, before wandering to one of the
far ends of the hall to look for a place to buy wallscrolls - that was
around where I bought my YYH one last year. I kinda thought I was going
the wrong way, and I was right, but when I reached it, I saw a giant
picture of ED and just couldn't resist following it! And guess what?
They were demoing the new FMA TCG, due to release this fall! So I got
to play, and got a special promo Comic-Con Ed card (I took two... one
for me and another for me, because I just love my Edo. XD;;). Anyway,
after entering a raffle thing to win FMA-related prizes, my
next stop was the place selling DVDs across from the TCG booth - I wanted
to buy DVD three. So I picked it up and was buying it when someone
behind me asked, "Is that a Kristina I see?"
I knew that voice!!!! I turned around, of course, and there was
my first Random Friend Run-In (TM) of the day: the seniors from my high
school, basically most of the Anime Club officers (well... more than
half). The group had Shannon in her Riza cosplay, Jenny, also in costume,
Riley, and a girl I didn't know but kinda heard about. Riley remarked
that they didn't expect to find me over here, but raping the Al statue
some ways back (insert vague finger-jerk in direction here). I told him
that I prefer Edo, as if it wasn't obvious by my costume. =^^= Note that I didn't say anything about the raping comment. This was
probably at around eleven-thirty, not too bad at all.
We got separated... somehow... so I ended up with Shannon and
the other girl (whose name I know, but can't spell, so I'm not even
going to try). They played the TCG demo/entered the raffle, and... hm,
well, we wandered around a bit. O_o;; And oh yeah, when I stopped at the
FMA TCG booth the second time, the guy I was talking to earlier told me
to turn around. I did so, and he said he wanted to show his boss my
costume. =^^= I was so happy to see so many people in so many places
(Viz booth, Funimation, TCG) who knew who I was.
I was supposed to meet Natalie in
front of the anime rooms at one, so that's where we went, at which point
I ate lunch while watching Initial D. I think that's all for that
part... oh yes, we got a lot of cosplay photos and the like. There was
one really nice one, a group of Naruto cosplayers, who squealed
quite loudly. I told Shannon I was going to get their picture, and she
was like, "Well, yeah! They squealed when they saw us; I think they
want ours, too!" So that's that. ^^
Soo... hm. Oh yeah, the two of them had an appointment set up
to meet with the creator of Invader Zim. Natalie and her friend
that she picked up when we were at the anime rooms (I think her name was
Colleen...) Anyway, on the way, we stopped at the Funimation booth that
I noticed for the first time because they had video games set up and
were playing the new FMA game! After waiting a while, I got my turn, and
a couple people asked for pictures... I told one to wait because we had
a Hawkeye with us who would be back in a little while, and the other...
I asked her quite amusedly if she knew who I was, and she said, "Yeah.
You're Ed!" So, anyway, she asked if I've ever been to the Funimation
website, I said yes, and she asked if she could take a picture of me
playing the game (or my back, with the pretty Flamel symbol on it). I
said sure, and I only noticed later how funny it was - I'm Ed, playing a
video game as myself. XD;; Anyway, I got stuck in one part of the game,
and this guy told me where to go and that, to get a boost from Al, you're
supposed to hold down R1. He remarked later that he created the
game, and Natalie said laughingly that that might help. I only noticed
later that - OH MY GOSH! I WAS TALKING TO THE CREATOR OF FULLMETAL
ALCHEMIST 2: CURSE OF THE CRIMSON ELIXER! Of course, by that time, it was
a little too late to say anything. We lost Colleen around this point,
and when Shannon came back, she informed us that I'd been playing for
half an hour. O_o;;
On the way to look for more stuff for me to splurge on, I
stopped at a place because they had FMA figures, and randomly wandered
into a place with a TV screen. I think Shannon said, "Oh, this is where
they're showing it," and a moment later, this REALLY COOL Kingdom
Hearts thing started playing; it might've been a trailer, but I
think it was like a Simple and Clean music video or something,
because it was full of shots from the first game and a few random voice
clips. It drew a pretty decent crowd, which I thought privately was all
thanks to the song. ^^; A second later, a different trailer started
playing, and it took me a moment to recognize it; at that point, people
started sitting down. So guess what, minna-san? I finally, finally saw
the Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children trailer! It was so
freakin' cool! I think I made a comment that I only knew two
characters from it (Cloud and Yazoo, Yazoo because Oki keeps talking
about him), but then there was... that one guy whose name started with a
B (can't remember it... he was in the demo, as Barret or something like
that), and then Cloud has this dreamy-scene-thingy that has Aeris
(Aerith?) in it. ^^;; When it finished and we were leaving, I learned a
bit more about FF7 that I didn't know before, because she was trying to
explain it to Shannon. The one thing that I was able to add in is that
I know the name of the bad guys! It's Shinra! Yay for playing the demo
too much! And btw, I later realized that it was the Square Enix booth.
No wonder.
We took a little break soon afterwards, where we just sat out in
the hallway and I finished reading Gravi. Shannon got bored and asked
if anyone had paper and a pen/pencil (I think she was going to draw),
and I handed her the thing with my parents' and Alex's phone numbers on
it, but since no one had anything to write with, she ended up calling
Alex. I kinda stole her cell from her before too long... "Where are
you?" "Under the inflatable Pikachu." "Well, get out here and pick up
your skirt, before I decide to kill you when school starts. Besides, I
want to show you how we should've made you dressed, in the last volume
of Gravi." "But I can't drag my friends over there!" "So?" "Melissa
isn't even here, so I don't have the top. And I'm coming tomorrow, too,
probably." "Oh. *pause* Well, where and when can we meet you?" "Under
the inflatable Pikachu." At which point, I relay the conversation to
Natalie, who I'm getting a ride with tomorrow, and she asks, "Can't we
just meet at the Tokyopop booth instead? It's so much cooler."
"Tokyopop booth or inflatable Pikachu?" "Inflatable Pikachu." "Alex says
the Pikachu." "Aww..." "What time?" "I dunno..." "Well, you idiot, what
are we supposed to do, wait under the inflatable Pikachu all day? Do
you have Natalie's cell number?" "No. Why don't you just call me?"
"...fine..." Shannon stole her phone back at that point and also ended
up borrowing Gravi from me. Heh. Well, s'okay, since I'm stealing
Furuba eleven from Natalie tomorrow anyway.
Anywayses, I bounced around randomly and ended up finally
finding those WALLSCROLLS I wanted, at which point I got separated with
only Natalie. I picked out all the FMA ones they had, along with a
Furuba one I wanted, and asked her which FMA ones I should get rid of.
I finally decided on one (I was running out of money by this point) and
got the wallscrolls I've been wanting for so so long! A little later,
we found the place that sells pins that I'd been bugging Shannon about
(she was wearing a chibi-Roy pin, and I wanted it), and I got the
three of chibi-Roy, Ed, and Al. ^^
I think we were off to the anime rooms again after that -
Kiddy Grade, which we saw last year and was awesome, a bit of
Di Gi Charat TV, which was just plain weird, and one episode of
Wedding Peach, which I chose simply because we had so much fun
making fun of it last year. And it was hilarious, oh, it was.
Seriously, with attack names like "Wedding Engagement Present" or
something like that, what self-respecting high-school fangirl wouldn't
crack up when it was used? Ah, the joys of Sailor Moon ripoffs.
Oh, wait, and while we were actually on the way to the rooms, this one
girl asked me for a hug. I laughed and asked, "Is it because I'm Ed?"
and gave it to her. She replied, "Yeah. Everyone wants to hug Ed."
"Well, everyone loves Ed!"
Almost done. We went to buy cookies, even though they're
overpriced, and got two each from Mrs. Field's because we were starving.
Later on I figured out that we spent ten dollars total on cookies, which
is... pathetic, when you think about it. So, I wanted to buy or at
least check Bleach (the manga) from Viz, so we went back down and
wandered a little. Natalie and I were heading for the FMA TCG booth to
check out the raffle results again when she suddenly waved at someone,
and I was like, "Eh? Oh... HI!" We'd run into Amanda and Melissa (a
different one), who I didn't even realize were passing right next to us
until Natalie waved, and apparently, the same held true for them. We
chatted for a bit before I dragged Natalie off again.
I think this was where I somehow ended up posing with a guy in a
Pikachu outfit right under the big inflatable Pikachu. *insane laughter*
I got my picture taken with him again, and someone commented on FMA and
Pokemon. Natalie said we should kill the Pikachu, and I made a comment
that is located down there, where the picture links shall be.
I think it was around this time that we stopped by the Funimation
booth again, or at least, I think it was Funimation. Anyway, I got
recognized as Ed and one of the people working there said, "There's your
little brother!" There was a giant statue of Al, and I said that I knew
and wanted a picture of it. Someone suggested that I pose with him,
which I did, and we blocked off part of the walkway to get a decent
picture. Like I said, we were jamming traffic. ^^;; Still cool!
After finding out that we didn't win the FMA raffle (oh yeah... they were playing FMA DVDs over there, and I sang along every time a theme song came along... wow, I was there for a while, considering how many I saw...), she stole
my Furuba wallscroll after I tried to sneak getting a picture of her
during a conversation with some random guy selling stuff that cameras
steal souls. >>;; It didn't work, though. The picture, I mean. Anyway,
we somehow ended up at the Viz booth by sheer coincidence, since we
weren't trying to go there, and basically just checked up on the status
of manga that we were reading. Then we left... but I got some really
nice pictures of cosplays hanging around outside.
On our way down the street to get picked up, we ran into
Melissa and Amanda again, and, a little further down, Riley and Jenny.
We stopped and chatted a bit about... things?, and then later on, when
I split up with Natalie and was waiting to cross the street, I found
a different Jenny, along with Oscar! I don't really know them that
well, but they go to my school, and Jenny was in cosplay, so I got a pic
of her and we talked a bit... I had someone else ask me about my costume
and the cost of making it and whatnot. Myuu. That's about all, heh. ^^
Comic Con: Day One: 11:00 AM - 7:00 PM
Damage Dealt: One hug and many pictures.
Stuff Bought: FMA DVD three, Gravi volume eleven, one FMA
wallscroll, one Furuba wallscroll, three FMA pins.
Damage Dealt to a Wallet: $78.25 ($73.25 on anime, $5 on food).
Just don't tell my parents.
Stuff to Buy: Chibi-Ed plushie ($25, know where to buy), chibi-Ed
keychain (unknown price, known location), Bleach volume seven ($8,
Viz booth), Roy's gloves (unknown price/location), "Got Manga?" T-shirt
(unknown price, unknown location)
Days Left: Three
Money left: Uh... about $100.
Cosplay Things of Note: There were four problems with today's
cosplay. One: hair; the wig was giving me trouble so I just braided my
hair and kept it black. If anyone mentioned my cosplay, not
necessarily the hair, I told them Ed dyes in black later in the series,
which most people don't know. Two: the glasses; Ed has them when his
hair's black, but they're sunglasses. Three: Ra darnit, these shoes are
uncomfortable, but I didn't get Cynthia's number and couldn't arrange to
pick up her boots. Four: I'm simply an idiot and I forgot one glove at
home. *sweatdrops*
Pic Links:
First pic I took - Shannon and Jenny in cosplay!
Saiyuki cosplay group of Gojyo, Goku, and Hakkai
Me, Shannon, and another Ed. ^^
The first of many Links.
I love this one - a Naruto cosplay group.
Link number two!
Now see, this one has an explanation. "Ed's so short even PIKACHU'S taller than him!"
Me 'n my otouto-chan. ^^
Kakashi!
Miroku! A really good one, too.
Kagome. Not with the Miroku.
The other Jenny, as... someone from Naruto. XD;;

July 15, 2005
8:52 PM PST
Konnichiwa minna-san! Today was also great (and quite hilarious,
for various reasons), so I'll skip most of my morning except for one
thing: When I went to Natalie's house to get picked up, I was in her
room reading Fruits Basket volume eleven (which hasn't come out
yet; it's a Comic-Con special! Tokyopop is selling it months early!),
and the door was open. Natalie's brother walked out of his room in only
his boxers, stopped upon seeing me, and ran back in. XD;; It was pretty
funny. The next few minutes were spent in conversation along the lines of, "Why
didn't you tell me?" "I did tell you!" "Didn't you hear the doorbell?"
"I was asleep! I slept through it!"
Anyway, so we got there and wandered around for a while, since
the doors weren't open yet. While there, I got attacked a few times for
pictures and got a few of other cosplayers, too... one of my favorites
were two girls at the beginning (who also ended up getting my picture XD;)
who were dressed up in Chinese outfits that reminded me of Li's from
CCS. ^^ They're the first one down there. We walked the length of the
hall two and a half times before the doors opened and met a different
Alex from our school; the one I don't know very well and who knows me as
the FMA freak. I'm still not entirely sure whether he knows my name or
not. Oo;; Anyway, I waved to him, and he was like, "Oh, the freak!" And
I just cackled insanely and yelled about FMA to him, since I was dressed
like Ed anyway. ^_^
Sooo... wow... darnit, I can't really remember everything that
happened, partly because my mom is here annoying me and she's driving me
insane. >>;; *dark glare* Annoyance.
First stop: to pick up a chibi-Ed plushie! Then we went to the
FMA TCG place thing and picked up another free Ed promo card, as well as
entering in the raffle contest thing again. They said we wouldn't have
to play the demo to enter ago, and that they should recognize me so I
could just ask for a ticket, and, joy of all joys, they did. They also
liked my Ed plushie, and later on I showed them my pocketwatch, too. ^^
Hm... I know I bought Bleach vol. seven sometime, and also
got two more wallscrolls, which would just about fill my room's walls.
*sweatdrops* Then we got bored and headed under the inflatable Pikachu on
the off-chance that Alex would show up, because I'm an idiot and forgot
to bring his cell number. We ended up watching this one girl play a demo
of an upcoming Pokemon game, and she got so stuck that one man (might've
been her father) asked us to help her, which we did... willingly. I
ended up teasing Natalie about playing Pokemon recently, and then we got
into an argument about Spheal's type which went something like this:
Me: It's a water type. You shouldn't send it up against Plusle
and Minum, electric types, unless you want it to get fried.
Her: No, it's an ice type! I should know; it's one of my favorites!
Me: It's both...
Her: No it's not!
Me: I should know; I caught one a week ago. *to girl who's playing*
Hey, can I see that for a minute? *looks it up on Spheal's summary* HA!
What'd I tell you? Water and ice!
Her: ...damn.
Anyway, it was a pretty heated fight, and we attracted some
strange looks about that. ^^;; I mean, how often do you see two high
school girls arguing loudly about a Pokemon's type, right? Yeah, we're
weird. It was funny, though... ^^ She played next, and after that, we
sat down and read manga before wandering off in search of the YGO TCG
thing, because I felt like dueling. When we got there, though, I got
kinda sidetracked because I saw something on another booth and was like,
"Hey... why is Sora over there?" AND THEY TOLD ME THEY'RE DEMOING KH2
OVER THERE! SQUEE! But the line was too long, so we're waiting until
tomorrow to play. Aww.
Lunchtime - went upstairs to take it in the anime rooms, but met
Shannon, Melissa, and Amanda on the way there! We went upstairs, and I
ate while Shannon was selling her artwork - we had a few interesting
conversations with people who asked about our Gaia sns, since the
clothing on the characters was Gaian, and a professional artist who came
over and said she was really good and talked anime~ At which point, I
heard some very familiar music and was like, "O___O" "I HEAR FMA MUSIC!
EQUIVALENT EXCHANGE! ...yes, I have the OST, so I know these things.
I'M GONNA WATCH!" ...and so, the next half-hour of my life was spent
re-watching the first episode of FMA, subbed.
What did we do after that? Wandering, wandering, more
wandering... ran into Jenny once... anyway. We went back to the FMA TCG
booth a couple times and saw the KH thing and Advent Children
trailer again... but most of the time was spent in ANIME ROOMS~ We caught
the end of Last Exile (kinda weird), saw an episode of Chrono
Crusade (Me: DUDE! STOP KILLING THE BISHIES!), and... eh, hold on,
I need to get the program to remember.
Okay, got it. Anyway, we saw the end of Tokyo Underground
while waiting for something else, and it was FREAKIN' AWESOME! I didn't
even know what the series was about, but now I want to see it. Then
after that - E's Otherwise, which I really wanted to see and
should borrow from Cynthia. Bishie psychics, anyone? Hm... then
Madlax, which was awesome, though I figured the guy would die as
soon as I saw him. O_o;; Heh. Hm... Kiddy Grade again, not as
exciting this time, since there was no fighting in this one, then we
caught the second-to-last episode of Wedding Peach while waiting
for something else to start... AND LIMONE WAS BACK! THE FEMALE ZECHS WHO
ACTUALLY ISN'T FEMALE AT ALL! XD;; So, yeah, made fun of that again.
After that, Chobits was very nice - last episode, I think - and
then Saiyuki Reload episode two. I luuuuuv Saiyuki~~~~
Got separated from Natalie at this point, nyah, but that was
basically my day... got yelled at for spending so much, but who caaares?
*snicker*
Vic!!! So, when we were picking up FMA cards from the FMA TCG
booth and commenting on how many I already have, the guy that worked
there was like, "Yeah? Well, he signed mine!" and showed us the card
signed by Vic. T_T I was jealous. Then he voiced someone in that ep. of
E's, whose name I can't remember and probably can't spell, as well as
Kou again... ^^ But the episodes were subbed, nyah. I squealed when I
saw Vic's name...
Comic Con: Day Two: 10:00 AM - 7:00 PM
Damage Dealt: Many more pictures than the day before and
business advertising for the booth that sold the chibi-Ed plushies. "Hey,
where'd you get that?" "Over at the far end, that way..." XD;;
Stuff Bought: Chibi-Ed plushie, Bleach volume seven, two
more FMA wallscrolls
Damage Dealt to a Wallet: $69.67, all on anime
Stuff to Buy: Roy's gloves (unknown price/location), "Got Manga?" T-shirt
(unknown price, unknown location), MAYBE Roy clock ($15, known location),
if I get all my coins cashed...
Days Left: Two
Money left: Around fifty dollars, all in coins. *sweatdrops* I
need to cash it in.
Cosplay Things of Note: I took to yelling "I'M NOT SHORT" to
anyone who mentioned my cosplay without asking for a picture - made
quite a few of them laugh. Still black hair - I think I give up on the
wig. Still glasses, still shoes, since I couldn't find Cynthia... but I
remembered the other glove this time! Yay me! And oh yeah, every cosplay pic taken outside of the entrance hall at the beginning had me carrying my chibi-Ed plushie in its plastic wrapping. ^_^
Pic Links:
My personal favorite of the day - two girls in Chinese outfits. ^^
A second Kagome.
Sanzo and Gojyo
Yay, it's an Inuyasha!
An Ed and a Winry. x3
A Squall/Leon, Yuna, and Wakka. ^^
Finally, a Naruto!
Gryffindor!
Lookie, it's a giant crossover! o.o I still have to figure out who one of the girls is.
A Lust, hugging Al's arm. Never in the show. =^^=
The first Vash! Donuts, anyone?
Sango, anyone?
The second Vash! I think it turned out pretty well. ^^
Gaara, from Naruto. This I know! XD;;

July 16, 2005
Uh... I didn't have time to write this when I got back, heh...
^^ The reason why's at the end of this.
Anyway, I got dropped off at Natalie's place a little late on
Saturday, and my dad drove us over to CC. We got there a little after
ten, and when I tried to check the KH2 demo, there was already a line.
T_T I only had six dollars cash to spend, since the rest of my money was
all in coins...
Hm... well, we went over to the FMA TCG booth again and got more
FMA raffle tickets. XD;; While we were there, one of the guys I met on
the first day pointed out the line for getting tickets for something else,
and told us to get one. Both me and Natalie were like, "...nyah?" but he
told us to just get them, since we could make a lot of money, and he'd
explain later. So we did, and the general idea is that the tickets were
for Halo 2 figures. As explained in the Comic-Con magazine sendout thing,
there are only certain numbers of "exclusive" items that booths are
selling, and first-come first-serve isn't always a good idea to hand
them out, since... well, if you want people to kill each other for places
in line, I suppose you can. Anyway, they have a raffle thing to
determine the rights for who gets a chance to buy the figures - they
were twenty dollars each. Basically, after that, we disappeared off to...
uh, somewhere, and explored. O_o;; *can't really remember*
After that, we decided to wander around and socialize with the
exhibitors, just because we could and because you can have such
fascinating talks with everyone - it was really awesome. Well,
we didn't really get to talk to many people, and Natalie got distracted
by a stand that was selling Beanie Babies. I got bored of waiting for
her to look through the bins and started wandering around that stall,
looking at the YGO stuff, when someone called me a freak and Alex (not
the crossdressing one XD;;) was there! After exchanging a few
FMA-related comments, he left again, and I went back to where Natalie
was. We talked with a Broccoli girl and a few other things...
We didn't win anything from the FMA contest, nyah, though I did
get around to playing the demo version of that Pokemon game. XD;; It was
waaaay too easy... *grumbles* So, after playing Emerald for a bit,
Natalie wanted to ask one of the Pokemon stand people what the difference
was between it and Ruby and Sapphire, so we did... and afterwards, we
chatted with the guy and... well, basically, here's the conversation.
Me: I love how high-school students pretend to hate Pokemon but
secretly still collect all the games anyway.
Pokemon guy: Yeah. We get guys over here who are like, "Yeah, uh...
it's for my friend."
Natalie: And their friends are right behind them!
Me: Dude, your friends have already been here!
...yeah. XD;; That part was fun. So, we wandered a bit and
ended up in the anime rooms again, where we saw Shrine of the Morning
Mist (pretty good... can anyone say "bishounen?"), Marmalade
Boy (I was so lost... I know the first volume of the manga, but
there were so many other characters), DNAngel (good, duh. So
many girls, all there for Dark. XP), and FMA (WELL DUH! I LOVE FMA!
Haha, the room was completely packed; people were even sitting on the
floor). Then we left, wandered, and ran into Shannon, Amanda, and
Melissa (again... o.o). Shannon said there was to be a meeting of FMA
cosplayers in the entrance hall at two, so off we went!
Ended up in the entrance hall, then, and we waited a while
before another Ed showed up, the one who had told Shannon and who I got
a pic of earlier in the day. A little while later, someone else showed
up - A MAES! MAES HUGHES! I completely freaked, asked him for a
picture (which he gladly gave XD), and a glomp. Yaaaaay~! I love Maes.
*hearts*
So while we were there, I think someone called my name, and I saw
some more school people, who aren't really into anime. ^^ They said they
thought they'd find freaks like me here, and I got a picture of them to
show my parents and such - because I never thought they'd actually come!
Well, there were a lot of group pics taken of the four of us (two Eds, a
Riza, and a Maes, including a couple where the Eds are trying to beat up
Riza for some unknown reason), and I made friends with the other two
(basically a whole "I don't know your name yet!" process). Then we
wandered off to teach Lauren (the other Ed) how to play the FMA TCG by
going to the booth and for Shannon to get some change for... something,
I can't remember what. Anyway, we got separated again, and while trying
to make our way to the booth, I may as well note that there were MAJOR
traffic jams on the walkways - I mean it. Soooo annoying... especially
since we'd move, like, ten feet in one minute. And the Comic-Con's
huuuuuggeee... T_T I think it was about this time that I found out that
Vic went to AX and I missed it... darnit! T________T I wanna meet him.
Anyway. One we made it to the FMA TCG booth (the company is
called Joyride, by the way), I checked my ticket for the Halo thing and
found out, much to my surprise, that I WON. O_O;; Well, okay, now I had
a ticket for an action figure that costs twenty dollars to buy but that
can sell on E-Bay for forty or fifty. I didn't HAVE twenty dollars, so I
just had to sell the ticket. Then there's the problem that I had
ABSOLUTELY NO IDEA what I was doing... then Natalie showed up, and it
turned out that she won, too. We spent the next half-hour or so trying
to pawn off our tickets, with a bit of help from the Joyride people, and
finally ended up selling both of them for fifteen dollars each to the
same guy. ^_^ Then we left again... though I forgot to get Lauren's
phone number and such. T_T
So! Um... what happened next here? o_o I forgot, but I think I
missed Tokyo Underground and E's Otherwise - darnit, I
wanted to see them, too. Well, we saw Flame of Recca (very cool.
^^) and caught the end of Fafner while
waiting for Kiddy Grade - it was pretty good, I suppose, though
they made a mistake and replayed the same episode of KG that I'd seen
two days before. >>;; Then... aw, geez, can't remember. We stopped by
the Funimation booth and used our fifteen dollars to buy a Furuba hat
each. I got a really cool Haru hat (it's reversible, so you turn it
inside-out to make it into Black Haru) and Natalie got Momiji... ^^
After that, I missed Chobits and just saw Saiyuki Reload.
It was a hilarious episode involving Shikigami of the Sanzo
party... awesome. =^^=
Then we got picked up... my parents got me from Natalie's house,
and then we drove over to a seafood restaurant, where I still wore all
of the cosplay minus the jacket, necklace, and CC badge. I did,
however, wear my Haru hat, and I loved how many people stared at me. x3
It's not a cow, it's a Haru! A Haru! Get it right, people! Anyway, the
only ones who didn't stare were the ones that had been at Comic-Con! We
got home late that night, which is why I didn't get to type this up
earlier.
Comic Con: Day Three: 10:00 AM - 7:00 PM
Damage Dealt: EVEN MORE PICTURES than the day before and a glomp
given to a Hughes cosplay. =^^=
Stuff Bought: A Haru hat. That's it.

spent $15

(unknown price, unknown location)
Days Left: One
Money left: Still around fifty dollars, all in coins.
Cosplay Things of Note: Uh... normal? O_o;; No chibi-Ed
plushie this time, though at the end of the day, I was wearing the Haru
hat and walking around looking absolutely ridiculous. XD;; No one got a
picture of that, though. Oh yeah, and for the first three days, I was
also wearing my FMA necklace with the Flamel symbol...
Pic Links:
Edo cosplay! This is Lauren. ^^
Storm Troopers. Natalie made me take it. *sweatdrops*
Don't ask me. Natalie made me do this one, too. Looks like a cat thing to me.

Pocky, anyone?
Another Kakashi

July 17, 2005
Yeah, this one's also late, even though I had more time afterwards.
I... was busy catching up on my fic reading. *shifty eyes*
Anyway, I ended up at Natalie's house a little later than the day
before, and we ended up a little late again. We kinda wandered for a
while, as usual, before I got forced into taking a picture with the
Pikachu Volkswagen Beetle. O_o;; We were just hanging around there, and
the guy that works there was like, "Do you want a picture with the car?
Of course you do! Here, give me your camera-" *takes camera* "-take this
card-" *hands me a promo Pikachu card* "-and stand in front of the car!"
I had no choice but to obey, but at least I got a Pikachu card out of the
deal. XD;;
We wandered SOME MORE~ and finally ended up back at the FMA TCG
booth, where we got more Halo 2 raffle tickets in the hopes of winning
so we could sell them off again. We had to wait until later to get the
FMA tickets, though, since they were a bit busy with Halo. We stopped by
Viz to pick up some more samplers, like the Shojo Beat one they'd
run out of the day before, as well as the blue Shonen Jump bags
and the like. Natalie disappeared and said she'd meet me in a little
while at the FMA TCG booth, so I went to Funimation and got distracted by
the FullMetal Alchemist 2: Curse of the Crimson Elixir games. ^^;;
Then I checked to see if they were still holding the FMA trivia contest,
which they weren't... shame, because I would've won. XD;; By that time,
someone had stolen the video game from me, so I went back to the FMA TCG
booth to meet Natalie, who brought Gabby along with her! But... GUESS
WHAT? I FOUND THE FIRST ENVY COSPLAY! *hyper* Anyway, we hugged because
she said someone wanted her to hug all the Eds she could find...
LOL, she was waiting to play the demo of the FMA game, so after
Natalie and I got our raffle tickets, we took a few pictures, some of
which included Danielle (the Envy) and I trying to kill each other. XD;;
Note to anyone who's interested: it's hard to smile when someone's got
their hand on your throat. No, seriously, it's like, something to do
with the muscles - it just won't stay that way. Oo;; So, since I was
saying that there weren't any Roy cards out yet, the Joyride guys let us
play with the prototypes of a Roy and Lust deck, where I helped
teach Danielle how to play. The other guy who was helping kept getting
confused when referring to us - he kept calling us "he," before switching
to "she," and I was laughing at him. Danielle kept telling him to just
call us Ed and Envy, and he protested that this is why people shouldn't
crossplay. I accidentally called her Lust once, though, and it took me
a while before I realized that was because she was playing the Lust
deck. XD;; I felt so stupid... Anyway, I lost the first time because
I didn't know I was allowed to do something (and thus partly committed
suicide >>;;), but I demanded a rematch and she resigned the second time
because she was confused. XD;; I guess the "Envy's gonna lose to Ed!"
thing only works a few times to make her continue playing. Oh yeah,
and the guy who cosplayed Maes yesterday turned out to also work for
Joyride... =^^= And the picture guy from the booth promised to send me
the pics!
So, we went through the decks and pulling out the cards that
looked "wrong," after Danielle found one with a really odd picture of
Lust that no one could remember approving. We came up with one of Ed
from episode seven, when he's dragging himself along the ground, one of
Winry from the opening scenes (on the DVDs, when Melissa is the
opening theme - you know, where the sun's shining through the window
and she's sitting on her bed in the nightgown?), and a few more,
including a shirtless Armstrong. I picked that one and said it was
because a shirtless Armstrong, no matter what he looks like, shall
always be wrong! ^_^
After that, I got "kidnapped" by Danielle and Serena, her Winry
friend, who insisted on linking arms and trying to navigate the crowds
like that. O_o;; I got separated from Natalie and Gabby because we were
practically running around, and then we came up to the Funimation booth...
Me: O_O *points at Al statue* GIANT AL!
Serena: It's your brother!
Me: GIANT AL!
Serena: IT'S YOUR BROTHER!
Me: LET'S TAKE A PICTURE WITH AL!
So, we got a picture of the three of us with Al, and we said it
would never happen in the show - come on, we have an Envy hugging one
of Al's arms, Winry on the other, and Ed in the front because Envy made
him stand there because he's short. *sweatdrops*
I got dragged around for a little while longer, and this may
very well be the only time you ever see a Winry, Ed, and Envy, in that
order, linking arms and literally skipping around.
=^-^= Oh, that was
fun. Then we went back to the FMA TCG booth and I went to look
for Natalie and Gabby. By the time I got back, they were no longer
there... T_T But anyway, when I got upstairs, I found Riley, both Jennys,
Alex, and a few random people I don't know playing with a whip and a
block of tofu. Don't... ask. O___O;; The tofu was actually a stuffed
"tofu block" from Tofu Records, heh. After hanging out with them for a
while (and eating lunch at, like, two o'clock), I got Gabby's phone
number from Jenny and called to find out that she was no longer with
Natalie, but Amanda was there, and I got her phone number from her. Then
I arranged to meet her at the FMA booth, where Danielle and Serena were
again... and I remembered to get their phone numbers and e-mails this
time! Yay!
I had a nice, long, spoiler-ish talk with two of the Joyride guys,
but we had to go a little bit after that... so, we said goodbye, shook
hands, and I commented about never seeing them again. Aww... ;_; They're
sooo cool, though! When it was time for us to leave, Danielle stood up
and hugged me again. The following conversation is just about
word-for-word and contains spoilers. You have been warned - highlight
to read. It is, however, freakin' hilarious. ^^;;
Danielle/Envy: *stands up* This will never
happen in the show. *hugs Ed* I love you, Ed!
Me/Ed: *hugs Envy back* I love you, Envy! Half-brother! And we love
our father!
Envy: We love our daddy!
Both of us: *crack up*
After that, it was back to the anime rooms for a bit of E's
Otherwise - hello, Shen-Lon, another bishie! *_* *cough* ANY-way...
after that, we headed to Slayers Premium, which was just plain
awesome. I was cracking up the whole time. OCTOPUS!
Slayers ran a little overtime, so we got back a little late, heh.
^^ It was worth it, though. And... that's about it, I think, nyah! Till
next year, ja ne!
Comic Con: Day Four: 10:30 AM - 4:00 PM
Damage Dealt: Couple more pictures, two hugs with Envy, and a bunch
of people left permanently scarred by our laughing, skipping exodus through
the con.
Stuff Bought: An Al pin (chibi-Al face inside a kitty-shape), five
packs of FMA artbox cards (or at least, that's what the Joyride guys said
they were... I just know they had pretty pictures and were two dollars each,
so I could afford them.)
Damage Dealt to a Wallet: $15.65, all on anime
Days Left: None... T_T
Money left: Fifty dollars, all in coins... ^^;;
Cosplay Things of Note: The first day I was completely normal
the entire time... or as normal as I get. I didn't bring my FMA Flamel
symbol necklace, because I think I left it in the car or something... ;_;
Pic Links:
Me and the Pikachu car. O_o;;
Cloud from FF7/Kingdom Hearts!
Danielle as Envy!
Serena as Winry!
Another Lust. ^^
Ed versus Envy: the card battle!
Ed, Envy, Winry, and Al! =^^=

were different colors... ^^;;
