The main race of humans involved with Norse Mythology. Vikings were tall, blonde, and very strong, (generally, there were also redhaired vikings, said to be descendents of a Viking males and Irish female slaves mating). Vikings kept slaves, of the people they didnt kill in battle, usually women and young children, but usually let them go after awhile. Vikings enjoyed sports, like skating, wrestling, skiing etc... Well known raiders, the Vikings travelled as far south as Constantinople, and as far west as North America. Vikings mainly populated Sweden, Norway, Denmark, and Iceland. Though remains of their settlements have been found in what they called Vinland, (Newfoundland), where it was believed they settled to harvest trees for the making of their boats. Vikings enjoyed poetry and stories, and would have contests among themselves to see who could come up with the best sagas. Vikings were great warriors and the greatest honor of a Viking was to die in battle, and be recieved in Vallhalla as a great warrior.
