The hall of the slain. This great hall is the home of the gods and Einherjar in Asgard. It is ruled by Odin. Vallhalla is a large hall made of gold, with five hundred and fifty doors, spears for rafters, and shields for a roof. Armor litters the benches here. A wolf gaurds the western door, and an eagle circles over head keeping watch all around. During the day, the Einherjar practice fighting here, and converse with the gods. Each night they have a feast with Odin, and drink a special mead which heals their wounds. At the arrival of Ragnarok, it is said that eight hundred warriors will march through the doors of Vallhalla, side by side.
