Odin

The leader of the gods. This guy has many names, 'Odin the All-Father', 'Odin the Oath-breaker', 'The One Eyed Old Man', 'Odin the One Eyed God', 'Father of the Slain', etc... Odin is the god of the sky, war, death, poetry and wisdom. His parents are Bor and Bestla, (yes, even the father of the gods had parents). His wife is Frigg, (Not Freyja), and he has a whole load of kids. Baldur, Hermod and Hod by Frigg, Tor by the goddess Grid, and Vidar by the giantess Urd. Odin is a half giant, ( which would explain why he was able to bond so well with Loki). Odin is also the god of creation, having created the world from the bones of his grandfather, Ymir, with his two brothers. He resides in the hall, Valaskjalf (shelf of the slain), where he sits upon his throne, Hlidskjalf, and watches over the nine worlds. Odin has many animal companions with him in Valaskjalf, Freki and Geri; his two wolves, that he gives all his food to, cause he doesnt eat and only drinks wine, Huginn and Muninn; his ravens, that bring him news of the world, and Sleipnir; his 8 legged stallion. Odin's most prized possesions were his spear Gungnir, (a gift from Loki), which never misses its mark, and his ring, Draupner. To learn the nine powerful songs, and the secret eighteen runes, Odin impaled himself on Gungnir and hung himself from Yggdrasil for nine straight days, (and he was the god of the wise?) As well he sacrificed his eye to Mimir to gain wisdom and knowledge, ( shoulda done that before he impaled himself I think). Also, Odin wasnt a very popular diety, being that he most often broke his oaths and generally wasnt very trustworthy.
