Mimir

Said to be the wisest of the gods. After the war, The Vanir sent Ksavir, the wisest of their gods, and Njord along with his offspring, Freyr and Freyja, to the Aesir in exchange for Mimir and Hoenir. The Vanir were happy with the trade at first, until they found out that Hoenir was really a blubbering idiot, so they chopped of Mimir's head, (the smart one, makes sense right?), and sent it back to Odin. Odin kept Mimir's head alive and well preserved with herbs, and placed it at 'The Well of Wisdom', (I've always known it as a bottomless lake that rests beside Yggdrasil.) Odin would often seek out the wisdom of Mimir, and even sacrificied his eye to gain knowledge from the wisest of the gods.
