Okay, here he is, by far my favourite of all the dieties. Loki was the god of fire and magic. The son of the giant Farbauti and giantess Laufey, Loki was originally a giant, but became blood brothers with the god Odin, therefore gaining status among the Aesir as a god. Known as 'Loki the Trickster' and 'Loki the Shapeshifter' a lot of people think he was evil. I think he was just mischevious and a prankster. Anyway, Loki is the father of Hel, Jormugand; the Midgard Serpeant, and Fenrir; the giant wolf. Also, he was the mother of Sleipnir; Odin's 8-legged stallion, (yeah yeah yeah, a little disgusting sure, but he was a shapeshifter, and a prankster, what better prank than to father a serpant and wolf, then give birth yourself to a deformed horse?) Some examples of Loki's pranks are, stealing Tor's battle axe, which he later replaced with his infamous warhammer, Mjollnir. I think Tor got the better part of that deal, cause his hammer would spit out lightning, every time he struck something with it, and return to his hand after he threw it, did his crummy old axe ever do that for him? Also Loki shaved off all the hair of Sif, Tor's wife. He did however go to the dwarves and got them to spin her a new head of hair of the finest gold, (Does it seem to anyone else that Loki liked to pick on Tor?), so again, I think it worked in Tor's favour. And then there was the unfourtunate incident with Baldur, but that could have happened to anyone. Well, unfortunatly for him, Odin and Tor didnt see it that way. Though Odin wouldnt let Tor kill Loki, they were blood brothers after all, he did agree that Loki had to be punished. So as punishment they chained poor misunderstood Loki to a rock in Niflehiem, and placed above his head venomous snake. His wife Sigyn caught the poison that fell from the snakes fangs in a small dish, but she had to leave once in a while to empty it. Loki was then vulnerable to the poison, and with each drop that struck his head, he writhed in pain, (said to be the cause of earthquakes). Loki thought this was a little unfair, and swore revenge on those that chained him there. So he swore if he ever broke free, he would lead the dead from Helhiem in a war against those in Asgard that imprisoned him there. The war would be known as Ragnarok, (whoooo hoooooo, go Loki! Dont take that crap from no one!)
