Son of Odin and Frigg, and messanger of the gods. 'Hermod the Nimble', at his fathers command, rode to Helhiem on Sliepnier and jumped the gates to confront Hel to let his brother, Baldur, go. Being the nice person she was, she said sure if everyone loved him so much, then getting everything on the planet to weep for him should be no problem, (everyone loving Baldur so much explains the rock and stick throwing?). To say the least, Hermod's departure from Helhiem was far less heroic.
