Not really a race, these are the souls of the dead warriors lucky enough to die in battle and chosen by the Valkyries to reside in Vallhalla. Half of the Einherjar went to Odin, and the other half to Freyja. During the day, the Einherjar would practice fighting, and speaking with the gods gaining wisdom, and at night would feast with Odin, and drink a mead that would heal their wounds from training, so they could be ready to fight again the next day.
