Flowers at Site of Bomb

Photograph by CainŠ

On August 16th 1998, the lives of a quiet community in Northern Ireland were devasted. Omagh would never be the same, A car bomb exploded killing 29 people and injuring a lot more. I personally was affected by the bomb having spent 18 months there in the 1970's. These words were the first words that came to me as I watched the story unfold on Television.

Suspicious parked car

Fingers pointing

Children screaming

 Mothers Rushing

 A loud explosion

 Glass flying everywhere

 Buildings Collapsing

Screams of pain Fill the air

 Sirens sounding

 Alarms going wild

Innocent people dying
