Goofball Productions
Welcome to the Goofball Productions web-site. The site is still under construction by our minimal staff. There may be some broken links here and there, and some things that don't seem to exist. They probably don't. But if you find something like that. E-mail me (crazyc94 (a@t) yahoo ((.)dot) com). Please.
Right now Goofball Productions has two major projects:
- AM RPG - An RPG based on the web-comic Angel Moxie by Dan Hess. This project is being written in ANSI-C/C++ using the SDL, SDL_Image, and SDL_Mixer libraries with an emphasis on portability. This project is currently in a semi-dormant state, it receives about 3 hours of work a week (out of about 20 total). This will be released as Freeware.
- ComicNet - This is the big project. This has been in the planning for about six months now, and a small portion of the code is already written. ComicNet is a utility that tracks, retrieves, and displays web-comics. One of the main points of this project is reducing the load put on web-comic servers. Avid readers of web-comics often dread the wait just to retrieve a single page of the comic. ComicNet aims to eliminate this wait by not just implementing a way to retrieve comics with smaller wait times, but also automatically storing the comics on the user's hard drive. ComicNet is being coded using the excellent GTK+ 2.x API. Unfortunately there is not a MacOS version in development, however the code for ComicNet is also being written in ANSI-C, so porting should be minimal once the project is at a point where porting would be reasonable. It is know that the client for this project will be Freeware, and the server component will likely be Freeware as well.
Minor/Dormant Goofball Productions projects:
- GP Desktop Tools - This is a Windows only project. It comprises of several tools that have been written as desired. Eventually they will all be bundled together into one user-friendly app. Of course, the app would be Freeware. ;)
- That's all right now... After all, Goofball Productions is a very young software development group.
