After bringing our first family of foster cats back to the SPCA on Monday, April 21st, Jason and I were asked to care for another litter of four kittens. This litter of two boys and two girls is motherless. They were abandoned at the SPCA without a mom at only four weeks old. After being asked to foster them and told that they would have to be put to sleep if a foster home wasn't found, I quickly agreed to take home the young cuties. They are about five week old and cute as can be! They are much more playful, loving, and trusting than the last family we had.
We are proud to introduce these four bundles of joy as Persephone (Greek Goddess of Fertility and Death), Selene (Greek Goddess of the Moon), Odin (Nordic Chief of the Gods), and Loki (Nordic God of Chaos). Persephone is the most adventurous of the bunch. She was the first to come explore the rest of our apartment, the first to willingly jump into our laps, and the first to purr for us. Before we picked her name, she was nicknamed Cuddles because she never left our sides. Selene got her name because she sleeps so much. She, too, is very friendly though not quite so trusting yet. She enjoys being held and played with but doesn't like when hands come out of no where to pick her up unexpectedly. Odin, who's almost identical to Persephone, has the most loving personality. He has become even more friendly than Persephone because he doesn't have that drive to seek adventure! Odin has already learned his name and almost always comes when called. Especially if he knows he'll get a petting out of it! Loki is the most different from the rest. He is the only kitten that isn't gray and is instead a very pale orange color. He meows the most always seeking love and attention. He is the most playful always nibbling on his sibling's ears and tails. When you can catch him, he purrs loudly and loves to be petted but don't expect to hold onto him for long! He's got much to much energy for that; hence, the name Loki!
