Rafa, who refused to be drawn on questions about his transfer plans, said, "It was a difficult game, but my team had control and played a very good game. "We made one mistake and it almost cost us, but now we are going to lift the cup." It's Rafa's timely introduction of Djibril Cisse that turned the tide against the Moscow men and he revealed how his plans came good late in the game. He said, "We knew that Djibril would give us more possibilities and we wanted to play some balls for him and it worked."
Jamie Carragher
Jamie Carragher has spoken of his pride after lifting Liverpool's 3rd European Super Cup and hopes it will serve as the blue print for another successful season.
Carragher was Captain for the night after Steven Gerrard failed a late fitness test and he enjoyed lifting the cup after Djibril Cisse had inspired a fantastic comeback. He said, "It is nice to win this trophy and we're looking to win as many as we can now. "We were without Stevie tonight, but tt was nice to lift the cup and it was a great honour." Carragher also had praise for matchwinner Cisse, who scored the goals that made it possible. He said, "Djibril probably wants to prove a point and he reacted in the right way tonight. "He won the Cup for us tonight."
