Another Roman historical fiction. Might be in the same time period as the Benevolentia.
A young Roman girl is appointed as a Vestal Virgin, and it's all fine and dandy for a few years until one day she ends up breaking her vows of chastity with a man who has a fancy for her. Now, according to Roman law, if this happens, the girl has to be buried alive and her lover is whipped to death. So yeah, there's a problem here. The couple is rather sneaky, and they're able to hide what happened- for a little while at least. Uh, that's all I have so far.
This whole story might not work out, though, since unchastity was very rare. But it's a fun idea. :D
