Ex-street fighter, got paid to fight. When he was a kid he joined the Sekihoutai but then they got killed by the Isshin government. But he survived, and was very very pissed with the Meji government so he fought Kenshin who had helped the Isshin. But then they became friends and now he just bums off Kaoru and doesn't pay his bills.

My manga/anime first love, so to speak. Sano is definitely my all time favourite character in the series. So what if people call him stupid, or if he does stupid things now and then? Everyone does. Actually he is very intellegent and insightful, it's just his brash and impatient nature that causes him to jump headlong into things without first thinking them through. (Fellow obsessed Sano fans: YES!!! Everyone else: *incredulous snort*.)

Why do I love him so? Well...

• He's so handsome! *swoon*
• He's sweet, kind and warm-hearted under the tough exterior.
• He's funny. Lots of comic relief.
• He's the one who started me on RK in the first place. One look and BAM!
• Did I mention that he's extremely gorgeous?
• He's the one of the few guys I've ever seen who look truely good with spiky hair! (though one wonders how he manages to keep it that way in an age before the wonders of gel and mousse. *sweatdrop*)
• That fantastic body. *drool*
• He's a good fighter.
• His Japanese voice actor, Yuji Ueda, has the most wonderful singing voice imaginable. *melts and dribbles all over the keyboard*
• And best of all, he's fictional, which means he's totally and completely out of reach! Thus I can safely obsess over him and only be thought of as a little weird as opposed to totally desperate which would be the case if he were real! bwahahahahaha...
