Alienation
By Casey
Eaten alive by the riches
Being removed from society
A poor girl living a rich woman's life
She adorns herself with choice brands
Hoping to fit into their dream world
But they don't accept her
Travelling on the barbarians bus
No fancy car to meet her after school
A bus her route home
Normal people seated on the overloaded vehicle
People educated to survive the real world
Living the way most do
Her internal confusion and frustration
Will forever be ablaze each day
But they don't know
How often did she have to lie
About the riches she didn't own
To compete with the very best
All those enormous mansions
That compared to her normal home
Forever overshadowed her
They all bathe in their riches
It’s money that buys them friends
And that is why she had none
We are going to live forever
In a society eternally divided
By the line of rich and poor
