CAN'T LOSE YOU

"Sshh, everything's gonna be alright, you'll get over her soon. Come on, , she's not worth your tears" you comfort your best friend as he cry in your arms. You hate seeing him like this - devastated, sad, angry, depress, lonely, but all you can do is hold him tight and tell him that everything's gonna be all right.

"God, I loved her so much. I never thought that she would do that to me, you know. I trusted her with all my heart. I thought she's different from the other girls out there, but she's not, she just used me as her toy. God, how could I be so stupid," he said in between sobs.

"You're not stupid, , it's not your fault that you loved her so much" you soothe him as you wipe his tears.

After a while, he finally calmed down a bit. "You know, I always dream about my future with her - a perfect family life. But now, all of my dreams have shattered because I lost her. I loved her with all my heart, how could she do this to me, the only girl I truly love, used me and never really loved me.

You listened to and were shocked by his revelation. You never really thought that he would think about that with her. He looked at you but you avoided his eyes. Yu don't really know what to say this time. You've been friends with him since you're 12. You both grew up together and hearing the words that he just said makes you want to rip that girl's heart.

"?" he caressed your cheek and you finally look him in the eye.

"Want me to kill that bitch?" you half-joked. He chuckled at that and you smiled. You were glad that he was not crying anymore and you even made him laugh.

"No, I don't want to lose you, either" he said seriously this time. You hold his hand and caressed his cheek.

"You're not gonna lose me, . I promise you that." He smiled and took your hand that was still caressing his cheek. He kissed it lightly and you close your eyes by the feel of his lips on your skin. You're in love with him since your high school years and kept it a secret from everybody else. You intend to keep it that way since you know that you're not his type anyways. You are contented just being his best friend.

"Thank you, thank you for everything that you've done for me, . I don't know what I'd do with-"

"SShh" you shut him up by pressing your index finger on his lips. "I'm your friend, , you don't have to thank me. I'm always gonna be there for you, you know whether you like it or not," you both smiled at that. "But seriously, I love you, , I'm your best friend."

"I know. I love you too, " he kissed your cheeks and faced you. Your lips are now just inches apart and you trembled a bit. You have never been this close to him ever. You never break the eye contact and tension is growing between the two of you. He suddenly pulled apart and you were disappointed. He could've kissed you, but he didn't.

You have to ease the tension so you said, "And here I thought she was the only girl you love."

He just smiled at that and you really don't know what to do. Uncomfortable silence grew between the two of you and it's killing you. The first thing that came into your mind is to leave.

You stood up abruptly and said, "Well, I think I should go now. I mean, you're better now right?"

"Uh, yeah" he replied absent-mindedly. He's not looking at you because his mind is off somewhere else.

"So bye now" you started to walk away but he held your hands. You stopped and looked at him. He suddenly removed it and you were hurt by his sudden gesture. "Um, thanks again." He said. You forced a smile and walked away quickly. You went home with thoughts of what happened between you and earlier.

The next day, avoided you. You tried calling him, but he won't answer. You tried to visit him but he's not always home. Weeks had passed but you haven't had any contact with . You only see him whenever Blue performs on TV or whenever they are on the news.

After two months, you grew tired of him being avoided, so you went to his house. Since the door is lock and he has changed it, you don't have any spare key so you sat on his doorstep and wait for him.

Night came and you were about to give up when you saw his car. He got out of his car and was surprised to see you sitting on his doorstep. ", what are you doing here?" he asked hesitantly.

"What am I doing here!?" you asked with anger in your voice. "You see, my best friend is avoiding me in the past two months and I don't have a clue why!"

"I'm sorry" apologized.
"I'm sorry?! That's it ? You don't have any reasons� Just sorry?1" you said raising your voice a little.
"I have my reasons, I just -" he said softly.
"You have reasons, so why -"
"Are you just gonna repeat everything I say?" he said, this time anger is evident in his voice.
"Oh so you're mad at me now? You're the one -"
"I know okay? God, , do you know how much its hard not to see you, your face, your smile, to not hear your voice? I told you I wanna lose you"
"Then why the hell did you avoid me?" you softly asked.
"Because I need some time to think."
"What's there to think about ? We're best friends."
"That's what I want to think about. I'm tired of being your friend," he saw the hurt expression in your face but he continued, "I want us to be more than that."
"What?" you asked not believing what you just heard.
"The night when I said 'I love you, too' to you, I knew, I felt it wasn't just a friendly thing. I didn't made a move because I don't want to hurt you and I don't want you to think that the only reason if I kissed you that night is that it's a rebound thing and I don't want to think that either. When you left, you're the only person on my mind� I even forgot about my break-up. You're all I think about. I just want to make sure that what I felt was true and now, I know that it's true. I want you to be my girl, . What do you say?" he came closer to you and once again, your faces are just inches apart.

You closed the gap between the two of you and kissed him softly. When you pulled apart, he was smiling, "Was that a yes?" you nodded and he laughed. "Really?" he asked.

"Yes" you said happily and he kissed you passionately.
"I love you, " he said in between kisses.
"I love you too, , since high school" you confessed.
"Really?!" you nodded and he kissed you again. "Come on, baby, let's go inside," he said to you as he led you inside his house.
