KEEP THE FAITH
Have you ever heard that things happen for a reason? Well, I know its a cliche but its true. Do you wanna know why? Ok, Ill tell you. I bet all of you wish for the same things: a good life, a good love and happiness. To find those things you know you have to be kind and not selfish so, you try to help people giving shelter, food, clothes even money. How do I know that? I used to think the same way but, I realized that even though we do these things, were still being selfish and not kind at all cause sometimes, what people really need is someone they can count on or just a smile on a rainy day. By the way, my name is and I know you all know me but, today, Im not here to talk about music or tour dates, actually Im here to tell a story. A story
about someone who never lost the faith.
Everything began a year ago. The lads and me had just finished a concert in London and were on our tour bus going back to the hotel chatting and trying to relax when the confusion started...
On the next day the newspapers published something that worried all of us: BLUE LAD INVOLVED IN A SHOOTING WITH DRUG DEALERS LAST NIGHT...
At night we decided to go somewhere just to chat, drink some beers and cool off our heads. We went to a small bar called Aquarium Beer...
The next day we were free, it was a hell of a good thing! We didnt mention what happened
to anyone, maybe the cops were already solving this and we didnt want to worry about that anymore so, we went shopping like teenage girls. It was a good laugh, we didnt even remember all that weird stuff. After shopping all we could, we went back to the hotel and found out that
was going to have a party there that night. It was great cause nothing better then girls to make a guy cool off. The lads and I were having the time of our lives when suddenly guess whom found? Yep, the female Billy The Kid wearing black cowboy boots, a blue jean skirt, a
black T-shirt, the same black overcoat from last night and the same cowboy hat. The girl tried to dodge us but we were faster...
One day, when we got back from Germany, we decided to make a surprise for her. We went to her house but it wasnt such a good idea...
Since that night we started to visit her more often and took her out for dinner or lunch everytime we could. thought about give her money but I thought it wasnt right. Not because I knew shell buy drugs with that but because that would hurt her. We couldnt watch her 24/7 but
we tried our bests to keep her far from her addiction. We started to do crazy stuffs to keep our eyes on her like damaging our own cars to have her around fixing them. Months went by and was part of the family and I was kind of developing feelings for her but I was too chicken to do something cause, even if I enjoyed being with her, I didnt want to admit my feelings for someone like her. I know, its cruel and mean but I was prejudiced. The only one who knew about that was , he made a big deal at first but then he understood me. I was too frightened but never let my feelings push me away from her. In a few days wed be recording songs for our new album so, during this time we could watch her better. The lads and I took her to dinner to give the news...
Anyway, next morning I woke up and went to check on her. She was sat on the floor, watching cartoons and eating corn flakes...
I wake up in the morning and I raise my weary head
_ You gotta be kidding! said in shock.
On a Friday we had to do a concert and that morning I had an idea. We called our manager and the producer who liked her to come listen to her singing then, we broke something in s car and called her during our rehearsal at the arena telling her to meet us there. I know youre gonna say that wasnt the right thing to do but I was desperate. Around 4pm, showed up and fixed the car in 30minutes. We were finishing our dance routine and she was in front of the stage making fun of us....
We set all the details and finally started...
2,3,4
It was amazing! That guitar solo was fantastic! was definitively born to perform. She knew how to stay on stage, had presence and didnt get intimidated by us or anyone there watching. I looked at the lads and by s face, I guess he was thinking the same as I.
and were amazed and having fun supporting her. I looked at our dancers and they were all smiling, dancing and singing along with her...
And my heart beats like a drum (all night)
_ Are you happy now? asked laughing.
Hey ,
I smiled for a moment but then hit me, she was gone...
8 months went by and I was fully recovered. The guy who shot me was arrested and we discovered he was the same who shot our bus. Since the day I left the hospital I hadnt heard from . I really wanted to see her, I was missing the girl, mostly her smile. We were in LA to shoot a video and in one of our breaks we went to a diner to eat something. We were laughing and chatting when the radio started to play Someday Ill Be Saturday Night. Our smiles faded away...
The next day we took a flight to New Jersey and once we arrived we started to look for everywhere we could. We went to garages, bars, clubs, we even went to a Bon Jovi concert to see if she was there but we couldnt find her. It was so frustrating! I guess you all know the feeling, its indescribable! Well, me and the lads went to a club on our last night there...
This aint a song for the broken-hearted
We all turned around at the same time and almost fell from our chairs...
Mother mother tell your children that their time has just begun
She sang Keep The Faith and two of her own songs. It was amazing! Everybody there were screaming, dancing, singing and loving her cowboy style. sure showed who was the new sheriff in town. That concert was 2 weeks ago and shes already being chased by magazines and
journalists. Right now, me and the lads are at s house watching her first interview on TV...
THE END!!!
_ COME ON, ! I KNOW YOURE IN THERE! GET THE HELL OUT OF THIS BUS NOW!!!
We all looked through the window and saw 2 guys on a motorcycle...
_ Do you know them, ? wondered.
_ I have no clue about who they are.
We believed and the guys kept following our bus...
_ , IM WARNING YOU! IF YOU DONT PAY ME, IM GONNA KILL YOU! DID YOU HEAR ME?
We all looked at again, trying to figure out what was happening...
_ Are you sure you dont know them? sounded confused.
_ Im telling you mates, I never saw them in my entire life!
reassured us and, to our surprise, the guy on the back of the motorcycle pointed a gun at the bus and shot...
_ THIS WAS THE SECOND WARNING, ! IF YOU DONT PAY US FOR THE MERCHANDISE, WERE GONNA KILL YOU!
The guy yelled one more time and went to a different way. I looked around the bus and everybody was on the floor, included me! We simply didnt know what just had happened. Our manager called the police and they assured Simon that what happened was a big misunderstanding that soon would be over. After all that, we finally went to the hotel...
_ What the hell happened tonight? asked in disbelief.
_ I dont know. Someone who has the same name as me and even look like me must be in big trouble.
_ Come on , lets forget about that and rest. I tried to tranquilize him.
_ Thanks man. Anyway, where are our stuff?
_ In the back of the bus. Ill get it.
went to the back of the bus and, when he picked up some of our stuff, he found something unusual...
_ Are you part of our stuff ?
We heard talking to someone and went to see what was going on. When we got close I couldnt believe my eyes. There was a girl among our bags! She was young and looked like she had just came out from a Bon Jovi video or the movie Young Guns cause she was wearing cowboy brown
boots, blue jeans torn on the knees, a white T-shirt, an old brown overcoat and a cowboy hat but, believe me, Kiefer Sutherland or Emilio Estevez wouldnt look that good in that outfit...
_ What are you doing here? inquired.
The girl stared at us and suddenly answered in a weird way...
_ Aww.... !
We looked at each other not knowing if we should laugh or get mad...
_ Im serious, you know? said a little bit rude.
_ I was walking around, just a face in the crowd trying to keep myself out of the rain...
We were confused, we didnt know what she meant...
_ Look, Im a huge fan of you. I came here to get an autograph or something.
She wasnt from UK, I could tell by her accent. She spoke in an American way, really like a cowboy...
_ Really... where do we sign? I asked.
_ Well... I dont have anything here with me but you can sign on my belly.
She raised her shirt enough to show her belly and we all signed...
_ Thanks! Its finally a dream come true.
The girl went to the door, looked both ways and left running...
_ What was that? I asked laughing.
_ I dont know but this nights really weird! said laughing too.
_ First the shooting and then the female Billy The Kid. I guess it couldnt get weirder! said laughing almost having an attack. was kind of serious thinking about something. Maybe he was still in shock but we didnt ask anything.
_ I cant believe! Why they dont mind their own business? said discontent.
_ Come on, everybody knows its all a bunch of lies. Weve been through a lot of these shit, were gonna make through this one too. I said trying to comfort him.
_ Yeah mate. Dont worry about these crap!
tried his best to make feel good too but it was hard since he was being accused of something he didnt do. still had the same serious face he had the other night but this time I asked...
_ Whats wrong with you, man?
_ Nothing. Im just thinking about that girl on our bus.
_ Oh, did you like the girl? asked in a naughty way.
_ Is not that. That thing she said, the way she left...
_ What about those things? asked concerned.
_ Well, first the shooting then, she appeared on the bus and say what she said, asked for autographs and left running.... maybe shes connected to the shooting.
We all stared at not understanding what he meant...
_ Its impossible! Those guys were looking for . said confused.
_ I know but, that thing she said sounds familiar. Ive heard that before, I just dont know where or when.
kept thinking as , and I just forgot about that and tried to have a normal day even with the fact that the press called all day to know something about s problem with drugs.
_ Ok, mates, lets drink! said all excited.
_ Lets sit over there. Is a nice spot, no one will see us. pointed.
We all sat and asked for the beer. After an hour, when our minds forgot last nights episode, we heard something familiar...
_ ! WHERE THE HELL ARE YOU?!
Yeah, the same guy who was screaming and shooting last night was at the bar...
_ Man, I cant believe it! cried.
_ Keep cool, mate. Itll be over soon.
I tried to calm and started to look for someone who looked like him or something. I guess you already know the results I got. Thats it, nothing...
_ Please leave, sir. Youre disturbing our customers. the waiter said politely.
_ Yeah, yeah, Ill leave. IM LEAVING , BUT YOU KNOW IM GONNA GET YA!
The guy left and then everybody looked at us...
_ Shit! Why this is happening to me? said embarrassed.
_ The police said theyll solve this, dont worry mate. reassured him.
We were not feeling comfortable anymore so we paid our bill and left. When we got outside, another surprise...
_ Sorry! I didnt see you.... hey! Youre the same girl from yesterday? - said helping her up.
_ Aww... !
She answered the same way as the other night. She was dressed like a cowboy again with black boots, tight blue jeans, a snake skin vest, an old black overcoat and a cowboy hat...
_ What a coincidence, huh? observed.
_ Yeah! Im so lucky!
_ What are you doing here? I asked.
_ Just walking around, you know? Thinking about life.
_ Interesting...
Of course didnt believe her
_ Yeah but now, I really have to go.
The girl backed away...
_ Do you need a ride? asked.
_ No, thanks. I got a half tank of gas and if I run all the lights, I'll slip across the border on the wrong side of right...
And with that she ran away. I looked at and he had that expression on his face again...
_ Are you still connecting her to the shooting? I inquired.
_ It cant be a coincidence, you know? And this thing she said....
_ Have you heard it too?
_ Maybe...
_ If she has something with that, she could tell us who is . said full of hope.
_ And what if you went out with this girl, never gave her a call and now shes trying to slander you?
had a point, that could be true but wasnt sure about it so, we went back to the hotel and tried to forget that.
_ Hi. Are you here in the hotel? I asked politely.
_ Nah... I couldnt sleep so, I took a walk down second avenue sick of dreaming dreams that never come true...
_ What? sounded intrigued.
_ Im here just checking the party.
_ Its a big coincidence you being at the same place as us 3 days in a roll.
I looked at her and she was smiling. Then, and joined us...
_ You again! What a surprise! greeted.
_ Yeah, you know, I found out where you were and decided to come.
Was obvious that it was a lie but nothing we said or did made her say the truth...
_ Im gonna get something to drink. Do you want something? asked her.
_ Yes, scotch.
_ On the rocks?
_ Cowboy.
_ Obvious! What a stupid question!
left laughing and we couldnt help but laugh as well. When we were trying to take the truth from her again, an old friend appeared...
_ , YOU CANT ESCAPE NOW!
Everybody looked at the guy yelling and , tired of that situation, went to confront him...
_ What do you want from me?
_ What?! Are you crazy? Im not even talking to you!
_ So why are youre yelling my name?
_ Are you the only in the world? Get the hell out of my way!
The guy pushed and left the hotel. We were so surprised with what happened that we forgot about young gun and when we turned to talk to her again, guess what? She disappeared...
_ So who could be the on our bus that night besides me?
_ Beats me! said astonished.
Suddenly I looked on the floor and saw a business card...
_ Check this out.
_ A card, so? said careless.
_ Its from a garage. And guess which name is on it?
They all looked at me...
_ No way! sounded surprised.
_ Yes, way!
_ So, are we gonna go there talk to the guy? asked.
_ I dont know about you but Im dying to meet him. answered quickly.
So we decided that on the next day we woul talk to the guy. After our manager gives us more 4 days of freedom, we went to the garage to get things clear...
_ Hi, can I help you? a nice old man greeted us.
_ Yes, were looking for one of your mechanics. I answered.
_ Why? Is something wrong?
_ No. We just wanna talk to him.
_ Whos the man?
_ .
The old man started to laugh and we didnt understand...
_ ! Come over here!
_ Whats up, Mr. Mastrangelo?
_ These boys want to talk to you.
_ Young Gun?! Wearing sneakers?! we all said surprised.
_ Hey!
_ Are you ? asked.
_ actually.
We were speechless....
_ So, whats up?
_ Can we talk to you, please? I asked.
_ Im kinda busy right now, you know?
_ And at what time do you leave?
_ At 5pm.
_ Ok, well be back at 5!
She smiled and went back to the car she was fixing...
_ Well boys, be careful cause this bull is hard to tame! the old man said laughing.
_ Did he just make fun of us? asked.
_ I guess. answered still in shock.
_ And you let it pass?
_ I guess.
It was hard to believe that was right about her being connected to the shooting. seemed to be so sweet, so not trouble! And what her boss meant saying that she was a bull hard to tame? Those things were in my head all day long. At 5pm we were at the garage waiting for her...
_ Youre here again!
_ I said we were gonna come back. I said
_ Im impressed.
_ Im the one impressed. Are you actually a mechanic? asked amazed.
_ Yep! I guess oil runs in my veins.
She smiled again. Young Gun had a wonderful and honest smile, it was kinda contagious cause when she did that we all smiled as well...
_ So, what do you wanna talk about?
_ Lets go somewhere we can talk better. suggested.
_ Ok, theres a diner nearby.
She put her cowboy hat on and led us to the place. We entered, she took off her brown overcoat, went right to the counter and greeted the waiter...
_ Hey Patrick!
_ Hey ! How are you?
_ Im fine! Could you bring us coffee, please?
The waiter nodded and we sat down...
_ Thanks Patrick! So, are you gonna tell me what you want or what?
_ Well, the thing is... are you the guy who owes money to that drug dealer? went straight to the point.
_ Thats me, Im wanted dead or alive....
_ BON JOVI! suddenly yelled.
_ What ?! I asked.
_ Those things she said are Bon Jovis songs!
_ Are you insane? asked.
_ No, man! Listen, that night on the bus: I was walking around, just a face in the crowd trying to keep myself out of the rain... the song is These Days then, at Aquarium Beer: I got a half tank of gas and if I run all the lights, I'll slip across the border on the wrong side of right... the song is Right Side Of Wrong, yesterday at the party: I couldnt sleep so, I took a walk down second avenue sick of dreaming dreams that never come true... the song is Two Story Town and now is obvious, Wanted Dead Or Alive!
We all looked at him astonished as was laughing....
_ Youre right man, Bon Jovi. My favorite band in the world.
_ I knew it! sounded relieved.
_ Ok... now, lets get back to what we were talking about...
I tried to go on but interrupt me...
_ Look, Im sorry. I didnt mean to put you in trouble. I didnt even know that had a among you. I just needed a place to hide that night.
_ How did you get in the bus, by the way? I asked.
_ Well, I was running away from those guys and I passed in front of that place you were. I knew they were getting close so, when I saw the bus door opened I got in.
_ And how the guys knew you were in there? asked.
_ I guess they saw me when I made the mistake raising my head to see what was happening with all those screaming girls.
_ You dont even know who we are, do you? inquired.
_ I know youre that boy band with the name of a color... I cant remember.
_ Blue. I answered.
_ Thats it! Blue.
_ If you didnt even know the name of the band, how come did you know my name?
_ You see, , when I raised to see what was going on I saw you passing through the girls as they were screaming your name.
She told us that she owed money to that guys and needed a little more time to pay, and of course, they didnt care. Now she was out of trouble cause, that same morning, she paid them...
_ Where are you from, young gun? asked.
_ USA. New Jersey to be exact.
_ And how long have you been living here? asked.
_ 4 years this month.
_ Live alone? asked.
_ Yep! When you pray for independence boy, you better stand your ground....
_ Ok, I discovered those other songs but this one I really dont know. observed.
_ Relax, babe, Ill tell you. Stick To Your Guns.
_ Thank you. You saved me a headache!
_ No problem.
_ , can I please go on? I asked.
_ Sure mate, shes all yours!
_ So, , why did you come to London?
When I made that question her face kinda changed but kept that beautiful smile...
_ My parents died and since I had no one in Jersey... She came looking for some shelter with a suitcase full of dreams... guess she was trying to be James Dean...
_ These Days, am I right? asked.
She nodded and took a sip of her coffee...
_ Since when youre a mechanic? asked curious.
_ Since I was born I guess! You see, my father had a garage back home and his dream was to have a son to take care of his business but, as you can see, God didnt cooperate and I was born instead. So he thought What The Hell! and taught me the job.
_ And are you good? I wondered.
_ Mr. Mastrangelo, the garage owner, says Im the best and I think hes right!
We all had a good laugh. was funny, sweet, nice and really beautiful too. She was easy to talk and that cowboy style made her unique. It was really bad that she had such a horrible addiction. My mom always told me that no one is perfect and, in that case, she was totally right about . After that night the lads and me got close to her. Everytime one of our cars had something wrong we called her to fix it and even went clubbing with her. liked Bon Jovi so much that became an expert! He bought every CD and knew every lyric that young gun said to us.
_ Hey! What are you doing here?
sounded surprised and, by the way she was looking at us, she was high. It was scary cause we never saw her that way before...
_ Didnt you like to see us here? asked smiling.
_ No, its not that... Im just surprised. Come in.
That was the first time we went to her flat and man, it was small. It had just the living room with a sofa bed, a small TV, a phone on the floor, a small stereo and at one of the corners there was a trunk full of clothes. A small kitchen with a small table, two chairs, a fridge and an oven; and a bathroom with her personal stuff. Though the house was small and with almost nothing in it, it was really clean an in order...
_ So, what brings you here?
_ We came to check on you. We missed you, you know? I answered.
_ How are you doing? asked.
_ Im alive Im takin each day and night at a time. Im down, but I know Ill get by....
_ Someday Ill Be Saturday Night, am I right, young gun?
_ Right again, .
We all knew that something was wrong with her, had a weak smile on her face and wasnt looking us in the eye like she always did. We decided not to say a word cause we didnt want to embarrass her or make her feel uncomfortable. We really wanted to do something to help
her...
_ Id offer you something to drink but I drank the last beer I had and to eat, only God knows the last time I did it!
We didnt know what to say, we just heard her saying that and got shocked. After a few minutes of awkward silence, finally said something...
_ We can go out and eat something, what do you say?
_ Yeah, lets go! Im starving! I followed his lead.
_ Come on, young gun, grab a coat and lets go. tried to cheer her up.
_ Thats great! It means that Ill see you more.
_ Yeah! We can go out and party almost every night. said with a happy voice.
_ Totally! One wild night blinded by the moonlight...24 hours of midnight...
_ And for $ 1.000, which song is this, Mr. ? joked
_ Correct me if Im wrong but Im pretty sure is One Wild Night, Mr. .
_ Is he right Mss. ?
_ Yep!
_ I told you man, now you gotta pay me!
That night was great, we all had fun and was really happy. She seemed to be back on her feet and it was rewarding for us cause we were making a difference in her life...
_ Well boys, its getting late and tomorrow I have to work.
_ Ok babe. It was good to see you again.
I gave her a hug and it felt so good that I even closed my eyes to enjoy the moment...
_ Goodbye young gun.
She put her hat on and looked straight into my eyes...
_ Never say goodbye, you and me and my old friends hoping it would never end...
_ Never Say Goodbye, mate.
interrupt my thoughts as she drove off in her old car. That night I thought a lot about her, I really wished she was with me. I wanted to protect her all the time, make sure shell be safe but there was a problem: her addiction. Everytime I dreamt about her being by my side, her addiction appeared like a ghost making me scared thinking I was crazy for feel that way. One night I decided to see her...
_ Hi . Came by yourself today?
_ Yes, I was alone at home and decided to see you. We never talked alone.
_ Youre right. I never saw any of you alone.
She invited me in, handed me a bottle of beer and sat next to me...
_ So, how are you?
_ Happiness its been no friend to me but forever after aint whats all crooked up to be...
_ Now I wish was here.
I joked and she laughed...
_ Something For The Pain, babe.
_ You really like music, dont you?
_ It makes my life goes pretty easy.
_ I see that you have a guitar over there. Do you play?
_ Nah. I just have it cause it was my fathers. Is like something to remember him.
_ Dont you have any pictures?
_ I have lots of them.
_ Could you show me?
_ Sure.
was a beautiful little girl. Always with her long hair over her shoulders and that smile that could bright up any bad day. She looked like her mother, had the same sparkling eyes of hers and always had that cowboy style she sure got from her father. I thought I
was being inconvenient by asking to see those pictures but I was wrong. She laughed telling me funny stuffs of her childhood. It was hard to believe that a girl who had everything ended up like that. One thing that always amazed me was the fact she carried on living and never gave up
on herself. Ok, she used drugs to ran away from her problems but everybody find their way to do the same with music, dance or writing. In her case was something that was hurting her and I found myself obligated to do something to help her quit with that. The night was going really well till her phone ring. answered and got kinda scared...
_ Whats wrong?
_ I guess its the 10th time someone calls to threat me.
_ Are you in trouble again?
She didnt want to answer but I insisted and she finally gave away...
_ Im owing those guys again but Ill pay them, I just need time.
_ Look, I dont want you to stay here alone.
_ And where do I go?
_ You can come with me.
_ No way!
_ Listen to me, you can stay in my house till you pay them.
wasnt sure about that but I could see in her eyes that she didnt wanna die so, she packed some of her stuff, grabbed her coat and we went to my place. In my car she was impatient...
_ In the heat of the street of the city, a young boy hides the pain and he walks so tall, trying to hang on but he knows he's going down again. I know he's going down...
_ What did you say?
_ Nothing... Im just thinking.
When we entered in my place she seemed to be in another world...
_ ? ? Young gun?
_ What?
_ Are you ok?
_ Ive been better.
_ Listen, everything will be fine. You dont have to worry.
_ Im not worried. Im just not feeling good being here. Sorry but is true.
_ You dont have to be sorry, I understand you. Look, Im gonna fix us something to eat so sit down and relax, Ok.
She just nodded and sat on the couch as I went to the kitchen. I made a tuna sandwich and grape juice for her. I called her to come to the kitchen but I had no answer so, I went to see what was going on...
_ God! You really are Billy The Kid, arent you girl?
was laid on my couch using her coat as a pillow. I took off her boots, put a pillow under her head and covered her with a blanket. Youre probably thinking that I should have taken young gun to a decent bed but think with me. She was so tired and sleeping so peacefully that
if I tried to move her shed wake up and it wasnt fair with her.
_ Good morning, young gun.
_ Morning. Id make something for you to eat but, as you can see, I cant cook.
_ Thats ok. Are you feeling better?
_ Yep! I just need to take a shower and go to work.
_ A shower is ok but you wont go to work. Im gonna call your boss and tell him youre sick. Youll go to the studio with us.
_ But if I dont work I wont have the money to pay those guys.
_ Dont worry. I think s car is not working well so, you have guaranteed money.
_ Ok then. Wheres the bathroom?
I showed her the way and minutes later my mates appeared...
_ Hey, where were you last night? asked.
_ I went to see .
_ Hows she? asked.
_ Shes ok, just a bit scared cause shes in trouble again.
_ Man, can we do something? asked concerned.
_ Well, lets do something with s car and give her some of the money she needs.
_ Why my car?
_ Cause I said so! Anyway... , yesterday she said one of those things again.
_ Say it.
_ I cant remember the exact words but, was something about a young boy hiding his pain and she knows the boy is going down.
_ Let me think.... hmmm.... oh, its The Hardest Part Is The Night.
_ Thank you. It was bothering me a lot!
Suddenly young gun showed up more cowboy then ever with torn blue jeans, brown cape skin boots, a brown cape skin corset with a white blouse underneath and a brown cape skin coat with fringes on the back...
_ What are you doing here? asked surprised.
_ Shes a little runaway, daddys girl learned fast all those things he couldnt say...
_ Please, ...
_ Runaway.
_ So it means youre staying here till you pay the guys? asked curious.
_ I didnt want to but kinda convinced me.
scowled at me. What could I do? I was trying to help though he thought it was an excuse to keep her close to me...
_ Anyway, we have to go. Are you coming with us? asked.
_ Well, if you dont want me to, thats Ok.
_ No, I just asked. Lets go then.
We went to the studio and there, we had a meeting with our manager that took hours. was waiting outside but she got bored and after a while she found the recording studio. She started to look around and entered in the booth...
_ God... its been such a long time....
She took a guitar that was in there, closed her eyes and out of the blue started to play. When she opened her eyes, she realized she had done a big mistake. The recording light was on and, the studio that was ready for us, recorded her playing. She tried to do something but was too late...
_ What are you doing here? I asked.
_ Nothing. I was tired of waiting.
_ Come on young gun, whats the catch? asked suspicious.
gave us a weak smile...
_ Its all the same, only the names will change, everyday it seems were wasting away....
put her hat on and left. I could do nothing cause I had a work to do...
_ Wanted Dead Or Alive.
_ You hurt her !
_ Sorry, I didnt mean it.
_ Hey, I guess she was pretending to be hurt. one of the producers said.
_ What do you mean? I asked.
_ She recorded something.
We looked at each other and sat down to listen what it was...
Ive got an old coat for a pillow and the earth was last night bed
I dont know where Im going
Only God knows where Ive been
Im a devil on the run, a six gun lover, a candle in the wind (yeah)
When youre brought to this world
They say youre born in sin
Well at least they gave me something I didnt have to steal or have to win
Well they tell me that Im wanted
Yeah Im a wanted man
Im a colt in your stable, Im what Cain was to Abel
Mister catch me if you can
Im going down in a blaze of glory
Take me now but know the truth
Im going out in a blaze of glory
And Lord I never drew first but I drew first blood
Im no ones son
Call me young gun
You ask about my conscience and I offer you my soul
You ask if Ill grow to be a wise man
Well I ask you if Ill grow old
You ask if Ive known love and what is like to sing songs in the rain
Well Ive seen love come, Ive seen it shot down
Ive seen it die in vain
Shot down in a blaze of glory
Take me now but know the truth
Cause Im going out in a blaze of glory
And Lord I never drew first but I drew first blood
Im no ones son
Call me young gun
Each night I go to bed
I pray the Lord my soul to keep
No I aint looking for forgiveness but before Im six foot deep
Lord I gotta ask a favor and I hope You understand
Cause Ive lived life to the fullest
Let this boy die like a man
Staring down the bullet let me make my final stand
Shot down in a blaze of glory
Take me now but know the truth
Im going out in a blaze of glory
And Lord I never drew first but I drew first blood
Im no ones son
Call me young gun
_ This girl cant be young gun! said shocked as well.
_ Lets see, the girl was singing Blaze Of Glory which was written by Bon Jovi and her accent sounds a lot with s. explained in a sarcastic way.
_ Look, if this girl singing is your friend you should consider her a future enemy in album sales. Shes damn good! Her voice is amazing and the way she plays is fantastic.
That was the review that one of our producers gave and it was true. had an incredible voice. She didnt sound like a pop teen idol like Christina Aguilera or Britney Spears. To tell the truth, I dont even know who I could compare her with...
_ She put her soul in the song. Its like shes the boy the song is talking about. the producer said.
_ So shes good material? I asked.
_ Of course! And the way she sounds, shes totally ready for this. Give her my card and tell her to give me a call if shes interested. Ok boys, its your turn now!
We did our job and then went to talk to . Guess what? She wasnt at my home. We tried the garage, her flat and 2 hours later we found her at that diner...
_ We were looking for you! I said almost breathless.
_ Im right here.
_ We really need to talk to you. was serious.
_ Shoot!
_ First of all, Im sorry if I hurt you. I didnt mean it. he apologized.
_ I can still remember when I was just a kid, when friends were friends forever and what you said was what you did....
_ Ok, Blood On Blood, I deserved it.
_ Look, you were singing in the studio, werent you? I asked in a low voice.
_ I dont know what youre talking about.
_ Come on, young gun. You were the only one there this afternoon. said a little bit impatient.
_ So what? Maybe someone was there before me.
didnt want to admit and it was frustrating cause her voice was the ticket that would take her out of that life...
_ , were serious. Was it you? I asked again.
_ I told you, I dont know what youre talking about.
_ Listen...
_ I have to go. Call me if you need something, Ok?
_ ... I tried again.
_ You know, ...Once I was promised absolution. Theres only one solution for my sins, you gotta face your ghosts and know with no illusions that only one of you is going home again....
_ Which is this one? asked .
_ Santa Fe.
Young Gun left us there and I got pretty angry with me and with her...
_ Whats wrong, ? wondered.
_ Its all a big bullshit! Shes good and she knows that. I never heard that Billy The Kid or any cowboy were dumb. Is Simmon an exception?
_ Easy mate. If she doesnt wanna go for a career we have to respect that. said.
_ But its stupid! I dont want that to her cause of the fame or the money but cause she can quit with her addiction and be .... and be....
_ Normal and with you, is that what you mean? asked a bit upset.
_ No! I mean she can be free from trouble and smile like the way she did when her parents were alive! Gonna take a miracle to save us this time....
You didnt go crazy, that was me using Miracle, trying to find a way to convince her to do the right thing. Me and the guys called her all week to check if everything was all right and she was acting like everything was fine.
_ Could you stop with that?! said laughing.
_ Come on. You are always full of attitude and style and, see you up there shaking your ass, is really funny.
_ Come up here! said smiling.
We helped her climb up the stage...
_ Youre only wearing your cowboy hat. Where are your cowboy clothes? asked.
_ Im working so blue jeans, black boots and this shirt are fine.
_ Are you still saying that you werent singing that day? I asked.
_ Yep.
_ Come on, !
_ dont start, Ok?
got inpatient and put an end on that...
_ STOP BOTH OF YOU! Look, , you cant hide anymore. It was you.
_ Man, youre so annoying.
_ Really? This time girl Ive had enough. youre too hot to handle with kid gloves. Its too late, I hear a knock on the door, the games over baby I cant take it no more....
took one of the guitars on stage and handed it to her. She looked at all of us...
_ Breakout, fair enough, . You win!
_ What do you mean? asked all excited.
_ You want me to sing so Im gonna sing. Can you lend me your band?
_ Yes! we said at the same time.
She took the guitar and went to talk to our band. 5 minutes later she came close to the microphone...
_ Well, I need back vocals. Could you please do it?
_ What are you gonna sing? asked.
_ Born To Be My Baby.
_ Bon Jovi, of course! joked.
_ Fine by me. Tell me when I have to start. answered thrilled.
(Na, na, na, na, na, na)
Rainy night and we worked all day
We both got jobs cause theres bills to pay
But we got something they cant take away
Our love, our lives
So close the door, leave the cold outside
I dont need nothing when Im by your side
We got something thatll never die
Our dreams, our pride
My heart beats like a drum (all night)
Flesh to flesh, one to one (and its alright)
And Ill never let go cause theres something I know deep inside
You were born to be my baby
And baby, I was made to be your man
We got something to believe in, even if we dont know where we stand
Only God would know the reasons
But I bet He must have had a plan
Cause you were born to be my baby
And baby, I was made to be your man
Light a candle blow the world away
Table for two on a TV tray
It aint fancy baby thats ok
Our time, our way
So hold me close better hang on tight
Buckle up baby, its a bumpy ride
Were two kids hitching down the road of life
Our world, our flight
If we stand side by side (all night)
Theres a chance well get by (and its alright)
And Ill know that youll be live in my heart till the day that I die
Cause you were born to be my baby
And baby I was made to be your man
We got something to believe in even if we dont know where we stand
Only God would know the reasons
But I bet He must have had a plan
Cause you were born to be my baby
And baby I was made to be your man
(Solo)
Flesh to flesh, one to one (and its alright)
And Ill never let go cause theres something I know deep inside
You were born to be my baby
And baby I was made to be your man
We got something to believe in even if we dont know where we stand
Only God would know the reasons
But I bet He must have had a plan
Cause you were born to be my baby
And baby I was made to be your man
You were born to be my baby
And baby I was made to be your man
(Na na na na na na)
_ It was simply amazing! I said all excited.
_ Thank you. I walk these streets, a loaded six string on my back, I play for keeps cause I might not make it back...
_ Youre better than great or amazing. I dont have words to describe what you were on stage, young gun. By the way, what you just said is from Wanted Dead Or Alive. said thrilled.
_ Look, Im really having fun here with you guys but, I have to go back to work.
left the stage and we all followed her. made a sign to our manager and he went to talk to her....
_ Hi, my name is Johnny.
_ .
They shook hands and we saw a great opportunity coming...
_ you have a big potential. Better, you were born to sing so, I was thinking that maybe you could meet me and my crew tomorrow to talk about a possible record deal. What do you say?
We were more nervous than her. That was her big chance! gave that beautiful smile...
_ Thanks but, no thanks.
_ Look, if youre not sure about it I give you a time to think. Here is my card so, when you decide what to do just call me.
took the card and our manager walked away. She looked at it for a few minutes and then went outside...
_ Are you insane?! asked shocked.
_ Why? What have I done?
_ Girl, dont act like you dont know! YOU REFUSED A RECORD DEAL! yelled.
_ So what? I dont want it.
_ Why?
_ Look, Im just a simple girl. I dont wanna have the same life as you. I dont need a Guru to tell me what to do when youre feeling like a headline on yesterdays news...
_ Dont throw Something For The Pain on our faces. If you sign it, you can get everything you want! said in disbelief.
_ And maybe be free from... I said.
_ Drugs? Is that it?
interrupt me looking straight into my eyes...
_ Are you trying to mold me, ? Thats the reason why you and your mates break your cars all the time? To keep your eyes on me? I accept all of you the way you are and, from the beginning, you wanna change me? You wanna make me be someone like the girls you hang with? Sorry boys but this is who I am! I know Im wrong hurting myself with drugs and alcohol, and I know I need to stop or soon Ill be dead! Of course I need help, but giving me money or setting me up for record deals is not a good way. You dont know anything about me.
_ dont be stupid! You have a great talent.
I was serious when I said that. She looked to the floor, I thought she was crying, my heart was already breaking feeling guilty for what I did when she raised her head. was laughing and I got surprised...
_ I wont lie to you Im never gonna cry to you, Ill probably drive you wild 8 days a week....
_ Ill Sleep When Im Dead. remarked.
_ s car is fine now. Just be careful next time you break something cause you almost lost your breaks and that could cause a tragedy.
She entered in her truck and left us there...
_ THIS IS STUPID, MAN! SHE CANT LET THIS CHANCE PASS! yelled.
_ Apparently she doesnt mind. I said in disbelief.
We went back inside and carried on rehearsing. Not even our dancers believed in what had done. That night we performed but all the time I thought about young gun. After the concert I went home but I couldnt sleep so, I had an idea. I called and told him to come to my house with the others and bring all his Bon Jovis CDs. I went to my computer and found all Bon Jovis lyrics, printed them and made a little book. The lads were so curious that showed up in less then 30 minutes...
_ Whats up? inquired still in pajamas.
_ I had an idea to try to convince accept Johnnys proposal.
_ What you gonna do? wondered.
_ Well, I have here all Bon Jovis lyrics so, I think if I talk to her through them shell be convinced.
_ You think itll work? asked.
_ I dont know but, she worthies the try.
_ Are you sure, ?
I just nodded...
_ Ok, lets start then.
put the CD on and I started to learn a new way to talk to her. Me and the guys spent the entire night listening to Bon Jovi and on the next day, around 1pm, I went to the garage to talk to ...
_ What brings you here?
_ I wanna talk to you.
_ Lets go to the side street.
She opened the door...
_ Talk.
_ Why dont you take the chance to change your life?
_ I dont need that. I dont want that. Im fine the way I am.
_ I know youre fine the way you are but you could be better.
_ Thursdays, fridays aint been kind but somehow Ill survive....
I took the little book and started to search for what she just said...
_ Found it! Someday Ill Be Saturday Night.
She just stared at me...
_ Look, you need to move on with your life. I know Romes still burning though the times have changed. This world keeps turning round....
_ These Days... anyway, I dont think that having a record deal is a good thing for me.
_ Why not? Maybe you could do it till you get enough money to open your own garage.
_ Could you leave all your life behind you?
_ Thats what I did. I moved on, I left my old life and started a new one.
_ Man, this is too much. I cant handle all this.
_ You dont have to take all that serious, I mean you should have as much fun as you can in your clothes....
_ One Wild Night.... well but, I dont wanna live your life.
_ , just enter in the game.
_ This aint no game! I play it hard, kicked around, cut, stitched and scarred. Ill take the hit but not the fall, I know no fear, still standing tall. You can call it karma, call it luck. Me, I just dont give a f***....
_ Right.... Bounce... but you know its not like that. You do give a f***! If you didnt, you wouldnt have gone to my house that night. You didnt wanna die and I can see now that you still dont want. There's no living in the backseat if you're gonna drive through town....
_ Stick To Your Guns... well I dont wanna be famous. All I want is peace.
_ Close your eyes and see my blue skies breaking through these dark clouds, you are the light. In my mind I see your red dress and your arms are reaching through the night. Ill never give up the fight...
_ Ok, The Distance but, come on , dont insist. Im not like you, I cant leave everything behind me. I wish that I could be in some other time and place with someone elses soul, someone elses face...
Young gun got quite with Someday Ill Be Saturday Night...
_ Youre . A beautiful cowgirl from New Jersey who has an incredible voice and a strong personality. Do you wanna live here in this neighborhood forever? Do you wanna go to bed sometimes starving cause you have nothing to eat?
_ Weve gotta hold on to what weve got cause it doesnt make a difference if well make it or not...
_ You dont need to keep Livin On A Prayer, and you can have much more than you got now.
_ , just leave me ok?
_ I wont!
_ Please. Just go home.
_ I have nothing to do in home.
_ SO GO TO SLEEP!
_ ILL SLEEP WHEN IM DEAD...!
I should never have said that. opened the door to go inside the garage when suddenly I heard a boom. Do you know what happened? No, nothing happened with . Happened with me! Two guys came after her and one of them were aiming a 9mm on her head and, at the exact moment she moved away from me, the guy pulled the trigger. He shot 4 times. The first 2 hit me! One on my right shoulder and the other sideswiped my left arm bellow my tattoo. I fell and started to feel my body warm inside ...
_ ! ! SHIT!
_ What happened bella!?
_ CALL AN AMBULANCE, MR. MASTRANGELO! HURRY UP!
leaned my head on her legs and took my hand...
_ One shot to make a move now... the ghosts are calling me out....
I smiled and blacked out. 8 hours later I woke up and saw sat next to me...
_ Young Gun...
_ Hey . Are you Ok?
_ Im kinda dizzy and my shoulders aching a bit. What time is it?
_ 9:30pm.
She ran her fingers through my hair, smiled and went to call the lads...
_ Hey ! You scared us. said concerned.
_ Sorry mates.
_ Thats Ok, man. Youre alive and youre gonna be fine, its all that matters. said trying to look calm.
_ Did tell you what happened?
_ Yes. Shes felling guilty about it. answered.
_ But it wasnt her fault. I defended her.
_ We know that but, she cant help feeling this way. You were shot in front of her, , shes scared.
I felt sad and just looked down...
_ Well, we have to go now, mate. Rest a lot and get well soon. said standing up.
_ Ok guys, thanks.
They left and 5 minutes later I fell asleep. At 2:15am I woke up thirsty and to my surprise, was sleeping on a chair beside my bed covered with her overcoat. I just smiled and watched her for a few minutes till she wake up. When young gun saw me with my eyes opened, she
quickly stood up fixing her hair...
_ What happened? Are you ok ?
_ Im fine. Im just thirsty.
_ Ill get you some water.
She cared about me. She was there taking care of me. Suddenly, all that fear I had about being with her disappeared...
_ Here . Drink it slow.
_ Thanks.
She ran her fingers through my hair...
_ Are you feeling better?
_ Yes, just my shoulder is bothering me a bit.
_ The doctor said that everything is gonna be fine. You didnt have any serious trauma though the bullet entered your shoulder. They could remove it with no complications. The only thing now is wait for the wound to heal and youre gonna have a scar.
_ Im gonna look like a renegade, huh?
smiled but I could see she was worried about what happened...
_ I remember that you said something before I black out. What was that?
_ Just something from Two Story Town, I cant remember what was now.
_ Were you here all night?
_ Yes. I asked to bring some clothes to me. I didnt want to leave you here alone.
_ Did anyone call my family?
_ did. Your mother is gonna be here tomorrow. Dont worry.
I handed her the glass. She kissed my forehead and boy, that felt really good. Then she sat down again...
_ Arent you tired, young gun?
_ Not much. Im more worried about you than tired.
Hear that was great. I dont know why I let that fear take over me, it was stupid. I wanted to be with her, know her better and maybe fall in love with her. I had to stay in the hospital for 2 weeks and all that time was by my side smiling, easing my pain and making my bad
thoughts disappear in a second but, the day I left the hospital she wasnt there. I thought Id find her in my house cause the guys would throw me a Welcome Back Party...
_ Welcome mate. said smiling.
_ Is really good to be back! No more hospital food or that uncomfortable bed.
All my friends were there. Half hour later, after being sure that I was fine my mom left and let me enjoy the party a little bit...
_ , come here! I called.
_ Whats up, mate?
_ Wheres ?
_ To tell the truth I dont know. We called her, we even went to her house but she wasnt there.
_ This is weird, she knew Id come home today. What if those guys got her?
_ Hey, she must be fine. If this had happened wed already know. Bad news travels fast. I bet shell show up later.
tried to tranquilize me but I wasnt sure. When everybody left, the lads and I were talking and seeing how many flowers, cards and fruit baskets I got...
_ Man, people have no imagination! Well, at least you wont have to buy fruits for 2 months. joked.
We were laughing when suddenly, the doorbell rang. I had hopes that was at the door...
_ Dont worry, . Ill get it.
_ Thanks, .
2 minutes later...
_ Who was there? I asked curious.
_ A guy delivered that.
handed me a big blue box...
_ Whats this?
_ I dont know.
I opened the box really slow and then I had a surprise. There was a black cowboy hat inside...
_ ! we all said.
_ Theres a note here.
How are you today? I guess youre feeling great cause youre finally back home. As you can see I couldnt be there for your Welcome Home Party and when you read this, Ill probably be far away from London. I need to think about some things that happened in my life. I hope youre
not mad cause I hate to see that wrinkle on your forehead when youre upset and I wouldnt like to know that I cause that on you. Anyway, I hope you had enjoyed the party and I wish lots of luck in your career. I think you deserve good things in your life. Well, I guess this is it, I
better leave you now.
The river of your hope is flooding and I know the dam is busted. If you need me Ill come running, I wont let you down...
I hope you dont forget me too soon,
 Young Gun.
P.S_ That song was Miracle. Im telling you now before you ask .
_ She left! I said in disbelief.
_ When? Why? asked.
_ I dont know! She said she needed to think about some things.
_ Maybe she didnt leave yet. said standing up.
_ Lets go to her flat.
grabbed his car keys and we went look for cause didnt buy that story of her being already far from London. We entered in the small building and knocked on her door...
_ Can I help you?
A guy answered the door and I felt jealous. I thought that maybe he was a boyfriend or something...
_ Were looking for . I said.
_ Who?
_ . The girl who lives here. answered.
_ The cowgirl? Well, she doesnt live here anymore. I bought this flat 5 days ago.
_ Do you know where she is? I sounded desperate.
_ Sorry, mate. All I know is that she wanted me to pay her in cash.
_ Thanks anyway. said politely.
The guy closed the door and we left the building...
_ Come on . Theres nothing we can do. said.
_ Lets go to the garage. Maybe shes there fixing some car.
So we went straight to the garage...
_ Mr. Mastrangelo, could you call , please? I asked.
_ Sorry boy, shes not here.
_ Where is she?
I was really desperate at that time...
_ I dont know. The girl quit yesterday and didnt give me a reason for that.
_ Did she say where she was going?
_ To the hospital to be with you. I didnt see her after that. I dont know what happened, all I know is that I lost my best mechanic and a good friend.
_ Sorry and thanks, Mr. Mastrangelo.
We went back to my place. I couldnt believe that young gun left us, LEFT ME!
_ Where young gun must be? asked a bit sad.
_ I wish I knew it. I answered sad as well.
and didnt say a word. and I just listened to the song and suddenly we realized something....
_ Did you hear what Jon Bon Jovi just said? I asked.
_ I wish that I could be in some other time and place with someone elses soul, someone elses face... answered.
_ She already did that. She left USA to live Billy The Kids life.
_ She tried all she could to have a renegade soul. added.
_ Maybe she went back to where she started.
and I looked at each other and yelled at the same time...
_ NEW JERSEY!
_ Well, we have a few days off, do you know? said smiling.
_ We could try to find her in Jersey. said a bit excited.
I agreed and we all left the place. We talked to our manager and he agreed that we could do anything we want those days.
_ I cant believe we couldnt find her. I said disappointed.
_ I know, its so frustrating. said.
We were sat on the bar drinking when the DJ presented a local band...
_ Well people, its time to have some live fun. As you know, every Friday theres a band playing here and tonight is no different. So everybody, heres Crucial!
We kept on drinking when suddenly we heard something familiar...
No silent prayer for the faith-departed
I aint gonna be just a face in the crowd
Youre gonna hear my voice
When I shout it out loud...
_ Are you seeing what Im seeing? I asked.
_ If youre seeing young gun on stage singing Its My Life so, we all are seeing what youre seeing.
answered without looking at me. was on stage more beautiful than before and still with the cowboy style. She was dressing a long blue jeans skirt with a slit on the front, brown boots and a moss green corset with a white blouse underneath it. We watched the whole
show and after 45 minutes, thanked everybody and left the stage. We didnt waste anymore time and went to talk to her...
_ !
We yelled and she turned around really slow. She was mouth opened and after getting back to reality, she answered the same way she did the first time we saw her...
_ Aww... !
This time we laughed, we were happy seeing her again...
_ What are you doing here? I asked.
_ Im the one who should be asking you that.
_ Were here looking for you. said giving her a hug.
_ Now you found me!
_ And we are really happy about it.
_ So, thats what youre doing with your life? asked.
_ Not exactly.
_ You wasted a record deal to sing in a club? asked in disbelief.
exhaled and led us to a table where we could talk...
_ Im not singing here for real. The lead singer is sick and the drummer, whos a good friend of mine, asked me if I could be in her place. A friend of a friend needs a favor. No questions asked, there's not much more to say....
Before could say anything I said...
_ Right Side Of Wrong.
_ I guess youre spending too much time with ! joked.
laughed. How I missed the sound of her laugh, her smile...
_ Well boys. Im glad youre here.
_ This is good but, we wanna take you back with us. I said.
_ I cant go back. Im here only 8 months, Im settled. I have a job, a house and Im living straight.
_ What do you mean? asked curious.
_ Im clean. Theres no drugs in my system anymore.
_ Thats wonderful, girl! congratulated.
_ It was too bad that I could only realize my mistakes when got shot.
She ran her fingers on her neck, took off her necklace and handed me. I saw that she was using a gun bullet as a pendent...
_ Do you know what it is, ?
_ Its a gun bullet.
_ Yeah, from the 9mm that hit your shoulder.
_ What?! we all asked at the same time.
_ It reminds me why I had to stop to use drugs. You were shot cause I did something wrong. This bullet reminds me that instead of your shoulder it could be in my head and I could be 6 feet under right now.
_ was lucky for you being short. joked.
We all laughed again...
_ Anyway young gun, we still wanna take you back to London. said.
_ You really didnt take that record deal thing out of your heads, did you?
_ No! we said all together.
_ We still dont understand why youre so afraid. Anyone in your place would be happy about it. tried to convince her.
took a deep breath...
_ Look, Ive been through it once and I know exactly what youre talking about.
_ What did you say? I inquired.
_ Before my father marry my mother he was in a band. When I was 8 he gave me his guitar and gave me some lessons. When I was 15 I had my own band called Amazons, we were 5 girls having fun all the time going to places that no one under 18 was allowed to be. When I turned 18 we were
playing at Xs and Os when a guy came to me and said the same things your manager said. I took the chance, I was making my dream come true. They prepared me to be a real star. I rehearsed 10 hours a day, everyday but Sunday for 6 months. I was totally ready to sign my first record deal when my life turned around. One day I came home from the studio and one of my dads employees told me that he had a heart attack and died. I didnt know what to do, I was completely lost! My manager gave me 2 weeks to put things back on its feet but, before this time off come to an end, my mom couldnt handle being without my father and killed herself. I never looked for my manager after that so, I sold my dads garage, my house and took a plane to London not knowing what to do there. I needed people around me but I was alone all the time. I couldnt get a job, I was getting depressed so, to run away from my problems I started to use drugs. I never felt sorry for myself or anything, I just kept praying for God send me someone who could help me when I really
needed and He didnt send one only person... He sent me 4 wonderful angels. Father please believe me I am laying down my guns. I am broken like an arrow. Forgive me, forgive your wayward son...
I had tears in my eyes so as the lads. We were mouth opened. told the whole story without shad a tear, she was smiling and for the first time opening her heart...
_ If singing is your dream why dont you take this chance again? asked.
_ I dont know. Im afraid that something bad happen when I get almost there.
_ Young gun, nothing bad is gonna happen. When you get there well be by your side supporting you. You dont have to be afraid. You just have to do what youve been doing through this years. I comfort her.
_ What? she asked clueless.
_ Keep The Faith. answered.
_ So, what do you say? asked full of hope.
_ I dont know...
_ Hey, Im sure Billy The Kid wouldnt be afraid of that! teased.
laughed...
_ Ok, boys. Ill go to London with you.
We all hugged her...
_ Can I ask you something? I asked.
_ Shoot!
_ We looked for you in all the garages in here, why we didnt find you?
_ Well, Im still a mechanic but right now, Im a secretary in a doctors office. she answered really ashamed.
We carried on dancing all night celebrating her new life. 2 days later we were back in UK, found a new place to live and started to work really hard. One day and I went to visit her...
_ Hey strangers!
_ How are you, young gun? we greeted.
_ Im really great. Im trying to choose a song to be my first single.
_ Are you gonna make a cover? asked.
_ Yeah, Johnny thought itll be better this way.
We looked at the table in the living room and there were a bunch of songs. I sat on the couch and realized that there was something under me. It was a Bon Jovis CD case then, I had a brilliant idea...
_ , why dont you record Keep The Faith?
_ Yeah. Its a great idea. agreed.
_ Im gonna call Johnny!
Of course he agreed with that, the idea came from me! Well, recorded the song and her first appearance was in one of our concerts. Me and the lads were really excited about it. We were waiting for her to leave the dressing room and when she appeared she was beautiful. She was
wearing tight light blue jeans, a brown corset with a brown overcoat, brown cowboy boots and a brown cowboy hat...
_ RIDE COWBOY RIDE! yelled
_ This is one of Jon Bon Jovis songs, did you now that?
_ Yeas I do. I guess Im hanging with way too much!
_ Youre gorgeous, . said taking her hands.
_ Thanks .
_ Go there young gun and show them that theres a new sheriff in town! - said giving her a hug.
_ Im nervous.
_ Dont be! Were here. Im here. I took her hands and she smiled.
_ I want to scream, run away...
_ Hey, dont say that. Youll be fine out there.
_ It feels like theres a stranger standing in these shoes, but I know I cant loose me cause then Id be losing you...
Lie To Me, that was the song. I gave her a hug that lasted for a long time...
_ , youll be on stage in 5 minutes. one of the assistants warned.
_ This is it! Go get them, young gun...
She closed her eyes, took a deep breath and put her arms around my waist. I thought she was going to hug me again but I was wrong. came close and softly kissed me. When I felt her lips against mine I can say that I was in heaven...
_ What was that?
_ Thank you for everything. You really didnt give up the fight.
ran to the stage and I was smiling like an idiot. The MC introduced her and finally her day came, the day shed make her dream come true...
I have suffered for my anger
There are wars that cant be won
Father father please believe me I am laying down my guns
I am broken like an arrow
Forgive me, forgive your wayward son
Everybody needs somebody to love (mother, mother)
Everybody needs somebody to hate (please believe me)
Everybodys bitching cause they cant get enough
And its hard to hold on when theres no one to lean on
Faith! You know youre gonna live thru the rain
Lord you gotta keep the faith
Faith! Dont you let your love turn to hate
Now we gotta keep the faith
Keep the faith
Keep the faith
Lord we gotta keep the faith
Tell me baby when I hurt you do you keep it all inside
Do you tell me alls forgiven and just hide behind your pride
Everybody needs somebody to love (mother, father)
Everybody needs somebody to hate (please dont leave me)
Everybodys bleeding cause the times are tough
Well its hard to be strong when theres no one to dream on
Faith! You know youre gonna live thru the rain
Lord you gotta keep the faith
Faith! Now you know is never not too late
Right now we gotta keep the faith
Faith! Dont you let your love turn to hate
Lord you gotta keep the faith
Keep the faith
Keep the faith
Oh we gotta keep the faith
Keep the faith
Keep the faith
Lord we gotta keep the faith
Ive been walking in the footsteps of societys lies
I dont like what I see no more sometimes I wish I was blind
Sometimes I wait forever to stand out in the rain
So no one sees me cryin trying to wash away this pain
Mother father
Theres things Ive done I cant erase
And every night we fall from grace
Its hard with the world in your face
Trying to hold on, trying to hold on
Faith! You know youre gonna live thru the rain
Lord you gotta keep the faith
Faith! Dont you let your love turn to hate
Right now we gotta keep the faith
Faith! Keep the faith, keep the faith
( Trying to hold on, trying to hold on)
Faith! Keep the faith, keep the faith
( Everybody keep the faith)
Faith! Keep the faith, keep the faith
Everybody needs somebody to love
Everybody needs somebody to hate
Everybodys bleeding cause the times are tough
Everybody keep the faith
_ Well, , Ive heard that the Blue lads gave you a nickname? the guy asked her.
_ Yes, they call me young gun and to tell the truth I love it.
_ Is that the only thing you love on Blue?
_ What do you mean?
_ Everybody is commenting about you and kissing on the backstage.
_ Oh, the kiss.
_ So, are you a couple?
_ No but, maybe that was the beginning of a great friendship!
_ Boys hurry up before takes this beautiful cowgirl! Thank you and good luck!
I am frozen, I dont know what to say about it. All I can do right now is smile...
_ So , are you friends? is inquiring.
_ Yeah, , answer! s yelling.
Im not able to say anything now...
_ Hey! Earth calling ! Are you there? s shaking me.
_ What?
Finally I can say something....
_ Are you and young gun friends? s asking again.
_ I dont know but somehow, I guess she was Born To Be My Baby.
