Orphaned at a young age, Frodo Baggins was adopted by Bilbo Baggins. When Bilbo decides to leave Hobbiton, he leaves Frodo all his possessions in cluding the One Ring. Frodo must travel to Mordor to destroy the ring. He also received a sword called Sting from his uncle. This sword glows blue when orcs are around. |

Samwise Gamgee is a gardener, like his father Hamfastand, and a very good friend of Frodo's. Sam travels with Frodo to destroy the One Ring. He isn't very clever and he can't fight, but he is a devoted friend. |

Meriadoc Brandybuck is the son of the Master of Brandybuck and comes from one of the Shire's most well-to-do families. He is known for getting into trouble mostly with his cousin Pippin. He also joins Frodo on his quest. He is armed with an Elf-knife which is given to him by Strider. |

Peregrin Took is the youngest of the four hobbits. Second cousin to Frodo and a cousin to Merry, Pippin joins Frodo on his quest and soon learns how to use an Elf-sword. |

Scholar, poet, maker of songs, teller of stories and a friend to Elves, Bilbo Baggins is one of the most famous hobbits. On one of his adventures, he meets Gollum and takes a ring from him. 60 years later on his 111 birthday he gives the ring to Frodo and travels to Rivendell. |
