Why Miroku?

Miroku.. Miroku.. why Miroku? To tell you the truth, I don't know why I'm drawn to this character. I think one of the reasons may be because, yes, I am attracted to his personality. He has so much crap going on his life, yet he keeps his head high and does not involve people in his problems. In my opinion, Miroku is the strongest of mind of any Rumiko Takahashi characters I know. I really do admire that. In fact, I think that is one similar characteristic Miroku and I have. We're very secretive about our problems, because frankly we do not want other people to pity us or worry about us.

Miroku and I are very different in other ways though. I'm not as perverted as Miroku, I'm not religious, and I'm actually kind of shy (that's probably hard to believe, looking at this site).

I think just the idea of his character is funny. He's a theif, a cheater, and a lecher.. and yet he's a Buddhist preist. It might just be me, but that just makes the character more interesting.

Miroku seems to be very wise and mature, even though he is a lech. He doesn't act on impulse, like Inu Yasha. He thinks through his actions before displaying them. As my sister would say it, he has 'layers'.

All in all, I would like to be Miroku, except female. Yes, I would grab the boo-tays of men. Probably a different reaction from what Miroku gets, but eh.
