| This was our dog, Duchess, that we called Duchy. We got her from my husband's parents because they were abusing her. His parents were not feeding her, providing vet care or even bathing her! We took her away from them and had her for only 3 short years before she died. Duchy was 11 1/2 yrs old when she had to euthanized. She was euthanized at the vet's office on June 5,2002 because she had breast cancer that had spread all over her body from her neck down to her tail. The vet gave her very bad chances of making it even with surgery, she would be in pain and probably only live another 6 months.We chose to euthanize her rather than to let her suffer. Duchy was a great dog. Very patient with kids and loved people. She was also quite the barker and always let us know there was someone at door.I'll never forgive my husband's parents for treating her so badly for her first 8 yrs. I'll never forget my little Duchess. |
