On 31 December 1942 Commander R H C Crawford was promoted to the rank of Captain as per the London Gazette, dated 5 January 1943.
On 18 February 1947 Captain Robert Henry Campbell Crawford was killed while on board HMS Alaunia and is commemorated at the Southampton Crematorium, panel 2.
