On 14 October 1943 the London Gazette announced the award of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire had been made to Brigadier George Oswald Crawford.
On 24 August 1944 George was Mentioned in Despatches for duites carried out in Italy. As stated in the London Gazette, dated 24 August 1944.
