Frank served with 10 Squadron, flying Halifaxes, as an Air Gunner.
On 12 March 1943 Frank failed to return from a sortie and was posted as missing in action believed killed. It is possible that the Halifax was shot down by Oblt Manfred Meurer from 3/NJG1, who claimed a Halifax shot down at 2148hrs over Grafwegen-Reichswald.
Sergeant Frank Patrick Crawford (631115) is buried in Reichswald Forest War Cemetery.
