David Nicholson Crawford (1553185) served as a Warrant Officer in the Royal Air Force Volunteer Reserve.

David was posted to 230 Squadron flying Sunderlands.

A Suderland took off from Koggala on the 28 November 1944 and set course for the Bay of Bengal. The aircraft was never heard from again. It is possible it was lost due to a cyclonic weather system. The Sunderland wore and all black colour scheme.
