So a little about myself; my name is Jeff Knott, I'm 23 years old, and I've got one more semester as a  mechanical engineering student at the University of Florida.  I have been interested in mechanics for as long as I can remember, and hope to have a related career in the next few months so that I may continue learning how things work, and making everything work a little better.

At the unversity, I get my sanity maintenance through the Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE) Mini-Baja team.  I've had a lot of fun with these guys, but even moreso, I've never had such a great learning experience in engineering.  We design and build 2 cars every year to be competed(Mini-Baja and Formula), and you can tell by the second pic, we have a lot of fun on the Baja team.

Above to the left is what like to do in my free-time (and there's not much of that anymore).  For some reason I always seem to be sketching trucks, I don't get it.  Sorry the picture quality's not the greatest, but you get the idea.
And this over here is what I am currently working on with the Mini-Baja team (Left).  This is an Inventor model of the rear suspension assembly (or at least most of it).  This gets turned into a Bill of Materials, and then each part will be made at our machine shop and finally assembled sometime before May 24-27
I come from a very happy home of Paula and Barry Knott, and I apologize, but I don't have a single picture of them.  My mom's a financial advisor for A.G.Edwards, and my dad is running a golf course and driving range in North Carolina.  Our home is in SouthWestern Florida (Venice if you care), and I had the blessing of growing up not 10 minutes from the beach.

My Brother  Jon Knott, has been married now going on 3 years to Connie Goldsmith which he met back in college at Mississippi State University.  They both have their MBAs, and Jon is currenlt playing minor league basebal for the SanDiego Padres, and Connie is his biggest fan..here's a pic of me and my big brother
I've been dating Kristina Cruden for almost 2 years now, and I am happy to say that she's a part of my life.  She was a little ahead of me, and just graduated  mechanical engineering from the University of Florida.  We met in a class at the University in Spring '04.  This picture was from my cousins wedding last February
We strangely enjoy most of the same activities, and I think that's why we work.  We frequent the local rock gym, go camping with and without our friends' accompaniment, and dream of unrealistic vacationing, and she even helps out with the Baja car from time to time.  All joking aside, Kristina and myself have been very happy with each other since we first met, and I can only hope to be as blessed in the connection we've had into our futures.
Just a few pics of some of our vacations
It just wouldn't be right of me to not mention our dogs on my webpage..."Get 'em boys!"  The vailla lab on the left is Archie, and the smaller, but much more dangerous Lab/Pit mix is Padre...get it, my brother plays baseball for the San Diego Padres, and I was going to school to be an architect...Ha ha, very funny!
But wait!...Theres a new dog now.  This is Gretel, Kristina's puppy.  We're pretty sure she's pure Beagle, but she's very small (about 17 lbs.).  She was adopted about 6 months ago from here in Gainesville.  The picture is a  perfect rendition of her...nose is always on the ground!!!
Let me know what you think
