54th Crash Course
~S~ Brothers& Sisters. If you have found this site, forgive me. It's just a place to host .jpeg and zip files for the 54th Squadron and e-bay. If you have been directed here, hope you find what your'e looking for.                      Crash out.
PP2 has 12 buttons, 6 axis and 8 way hat!
Above are pictures of my repeatedly modified PP2 stick that preceded the Thrustmaster Cougar HOTAS. The Mod PP2 has 6 axis, 12 buttons and an 8 way hat. It was used in conjunction with a Nostromo n50 speedpad. This multiplied control options exponentially.
Excuse the lack of organization on this page. It is under construction, and will soon be one of several pages of "The Crashsite". If you have any suggestions on how I might improve what you see, please e-mail me at: [email protected].
Thanks,                                                           Crash

<<This is the infamous
"Adirondack-Pit".>>
It was built from pine using a very  comfortable chair from Coppa Woodworking in San Pedro. Although this chair is a prototype just to get the new Cougar Hotas up & running, I fully intend to implement much of the chairs' features in the next "pit". The angle of the chair was altered about 17 degrees as you can see from the pictures. Front legs were removed and new legs were added front & rear. The left armrest was designed for the throttle. Overall position of throttle, pedals & stick were determined from cockpit pictures fron P-51's and P-47's. The stick is as low as it can go and still be between your knees. The chair and pedals are mounted on a frame with casters for easy storage. Aluminum frames were fabricated and lined with felt to hold the stick & throttle. Pedals are mounted and hardwired to the chair base. The advantage to using a chair of this type, is that it is inexpensively modular. Changes in design can be made as quickly as the need is discovered. It is comfortable enough to sit for three hours, even without the "butt cushion" (I have actually snoozed in the ready room!). You actually have to climb in this thing, but then FW190's didn't have doors did they!
