Kum Ba Ya

Kumbaya (köömbä yä), [African-luvalle = Come by here], n.

1. and African American spiritual written in 1918 by
Marvin V. Frey when he was 17 and later
translated into the African language of Luvalle.

2. a song first used to change the lives of people in Angola Africa.

3. a place on Kentucky Lake where lives continue to be changed.

     Camp Kum-Ba-Ya is located in Land Between the Lakes in Kentucky.  It's a Disciples of Christ / Presbyterian (and United Church of Christ too!) church camp.
