USDA Release District 3 & 4 Independent Member and Alternate Member Nomination Results Gary Jensen (WI) is declared the member nominee and Kelly Rudd (WI) is declared the alternate member nominee The District 3 independent grower meeting was held on June 2, 2002 at the Mead Inn, Wisconsin Rapids, Wisconsin.Mr. Gary Jensen (WI), Ms. Nodji Van Wychen (WI), and Mr. John Meyer (OR) were nominated for the member position. Mr. Richard Ducklow (WI), Mr. Robert McKenzie (OR) and Mr. Kelly Rudd (WI) were nominated for the alternate member position. The growers attending the Wisconsin independent grower meeting cast ballots for the aforementioned candidates wherein the ballots were collected and sealed. A nomination ballot was sent to all eligible independent growers in District 4. Eligible independent growers in District 4 were to mark, sign and return their ballots to the CMC administrative office postmarked by no later than June 28, 2002.On July 8, 2002 the Wisconsin independent grower ballots were unsealed and tallied along with the ballots received, postmarked by no later than June 28, 2002, from independent growers in District 4. The results of the District 3 & 4 independent member and alternate member nominations is as follows:For Member Votes Gary Jensen 60 John Meyer 46 Nodji Van Wychen 7 For Alternate Member Votes Kelly Rudd 60 Robert McKenzie 42 Richard Ducklow 6 Based on the ballot tally Mr. Jensen is declared the member nominee and Mr. Rudd is declared the alternate member nominee. As the member and alternate member nominees Mr. Jensen and Mr. Rudd are required to submit a completed Qualification Statement to the Secretary, USDA, for selection. Members and alternate members selected by the Secretary, USDA, for membership on the Cranberry Marketing Committee will be seated at the CMC's summer meeting to be held on August 26, 2002 in Egg Harbor, NJ. |
