InYourDreams Advertising to handle Ocean Spray-Tropicana Nuptials

7/18/99 Middleboro, MA - BogWire Exclusive - Pepsico, which recently acquired down-and-almost-out Ocean Spray, has retained the premier advertising agency, InYourDreams, to develop a campaign to tout the joining of both the Ocean Spray red drink line with the Tropicana orange drink line and their offspring, Nantucket Nectars.

Early, still on the story board, television commercial themes have been leaked to BogWire. The overall thrust of the campaign will be to liken the merger to a marriage, using wry and somewhat irreverent humor to get around the fact that it's impossible to assign gender to juice companies that want to sell to both men and women.  Not to mention the uproar that will come from groups like The Catholic League , to whom Ocean Spray caved in and withdrew their ads from the benign 1997 Nothing Sacred television show.

Story board:

Ocean Spray and Tropicana representations (could be Muppets) in ecumenical house of worship, coming down the aisle to  upbeat music (yet to be determined). Audience is filled with other members of the Pepsico family.

Brief marital ceremony emphasizing the  benefits of the products: to love the very best fresh fruit ingredients, the healthiest, zestiest, zingiest, refresherific... to honor the fruit, be faithful to our thirsty public... etc.

Cut to Nantucket Nectars and Snapple, played as teens to twenty-somethings. Dialogue, sounding testy:

"Does this mean we have to get along?"

"Stop competing for shelf space?"

"Guess so..."

"What fun is that?"

"Well, they say we'll have to share?"

"You mean give up my secret formula for our grandmothers' lemonade?"

"Hey, at least I'm not asking for one of your grannies!"
