'Effie' was recently purchased from Sarah and we are very excited to be welcoming him to Craiglathie.  This is a big, beautiful colt with bags of personality!  His amazing conformation doesn't even begin to hint at the amount of potential this boy has.  His paces are faultess, and he has already loose jumped over 4'4!  He is quick to learn and eager to please.  He is sensible and very affectionate therefore making him a joy to work with. 

What makes Effie stand out from other warmbloods is his illustrious pedigree.  Effie was recently approved for the Westphalian and Hannover studbooks and his pedigree combine the best of both lines.  His sire is out of Pilot, one of the most successful showjumping sires' to come out of Germany.  He has produced such illustrious horses as P.S. Priamos (Ledger Beerbaum, Olympic horses Bugatti Pedro (W. Brinkmann) and Pirol (Leslie McNaucht-Maendli).  Pilot was also the youngest stallion who's offsrping won more than DM 1,000,000 in Germany.   He has been leading his age group in terms of money won by offspring for several years in a row.

Effie's dam is out of Grundstein I.  This legendary Grand Prix dressage stallion was imported to the US in German after siring 13 fully approved breeding stallions in Germany.  He has been the leading sire in the FN rankings among stallions in the top 10% of their age group in both jumping and dressage since 1988.

His traning will be primarily geared towards showjumping and dresssage and only time will tell which he excels in!  So far he is doing Craiglathie proud and we cannot wait to fully unleash this exceptional stallion next season!
