| Socrates sire is a direct desendant of the great stallion Melekush, one of the founders of the Akhal-Teke line. Therefore Socrates is a beautiful Cat. 1 graded horse with perfect Akhal-Teke conformation. Added to this he is proved himself to be an excellent eventing horse.. He is not the most creative of horses but is extremely loyal, very trusting and has a docile, implaccable nature. He is very willing to learn and his sheer determindness to do the best for his rider means that he seldom has an off-day. His wonderful temperement which is unusual for an Akhal-Teke means that he is extremely amenable to schooling. Right now he is competing as an intermediate eventer but next year he will definitely be able to move up a grade. He has great stamina and what his jump lack in scope he makes up for in athleticism. His dressage is weak as it is technically correct but very lifeless so hard work needs to be put in to make him lighter on the forehand.
