Faolan (pronounced fay-lawn) gets his name from the gaelic for wolf due to his striking coat colours. Faolan's dam was a King Of Hearts x Ben Purple foal and has passed a natural jumping ability and wonderful stamina onto Faolan.  Faolan was Fallacy's first foal and Craiglathie are eage to sound out Faolan's virtues.  Fallacy was an ex-racehorse who managed a second place in the Breeders Cup Classic in 1987.  He was then retired until recently when the decision was made to use him as a stud.  Faolan has inherited Fallacy's speed and Kildalton's scopey jump.

Faolan is not an easy ride.  He is flighty and skittish and relies entirely on his rider to do the thinking for him.  He also becomes terribly overexcited.  However, managed in the correct manner, he will jump big and he will jump fast.  He needs a lot of riding and schooling and his dressage is not up to CCI**** standard even though his jumping is.  However, he continues to improve daily and it will be interesting to see how far we can make it as a team!
