Fiachra is gaelic for  'battle king' and it was chosen for two reasons.  Fiachra's birth was an extremely difficult one for his dam Aoife and we honestly didn't think he would make it.  However, as time went by we noticed that Fiachra was a fighter, growing stronger and healthier everyday regardless of his rocky start in the world.  'King' come from his sire's name 'Tiarnach' which is gaelic for lord.  As you can see, Fiachra is developing into an incredible RID which is inevitable considering his pedigree.  He has an amazing bone structure, strong topline and big quarters.  He is beginning to be loose schooled very lightly but is completely stall broken.  Fiachra can be a handful (I recommend gelding soon) but it is high spirits and mischief as opposed to bad temper.  One must assert one's self as dominant from the very beginning but once dominance is established, Fiachra is a willing listener.  He has no vices and is already showing great promise.
Although looking a little out of proportion at the moment, Fiachra will eventually develop into a pure grey horse with wonderful conformation.
