Funk is one of the most interesting mares we have at Craiglathie.  This girl has bags of personality.  She is friendly, spunky and mischievious with a great sense of fun.  Her dam is the direct desecndant of Aksakal which is an extremely rare line for the breed making her even more special.  Her grandam was out of Munir who is well known as a champion of the breed.  The lineage is extremely exotic but certains traits seem to be genetic.  All the Aksakal progeny have beautiful movement and a strong jump and Funk is no different. 

She is extremely fast and athletic, excelling particularly at cross country.  Her habit of 'throwing her all' at a challenge means you never get less than 110% effort from this mare although she does have the tendency to get carried away and sometimes forgets there is a rather bewildered rider on top!  Funk has a wonderful feature at Craiglathie, both as a competitor and as a broodmare and you can be assured that life is never dull with this girl around!
