Breeding Policy and Goals:
Craig Kennels' breeding policy is simple and straight forward. I breed to meet the Rat Terrier Standard. My dogs are my pets and are raised in my home. All my puppies up to this point have had erect ears. Tails and dew claws are removed within 2 to 3 days of age. I strive in breeding the best puppies as possible, because I love the breed. All puppies will be evaluated for show potential and will be sold accordingly. All "Pet" quality puppies will be required to be spayed or neutured prior to one year of age. All puppies are registered with UKC.
All my dogs are my pets and are NOT "Kennel" raised. They live in my home and all my puppies are born and raised in the home as well. I do not believe in letting a puppy leave until they are approximately 8 weeks of age. This allows the puppies to be more stable, and well mannered and less stressed when leaving to go to their new homes.
My dogs are fed a high quality dog food. I do not feed products based mainly on corn, or soy and prefer natural perservatives.
I do NOT ship puppies! All puppies will be picked up in person by their new owners. I believe strongly in getting to know the new owners of my puppies prior to their leaving the "nest". All new owners will be required to pay a non-refundable deposit and to sign a Contract prior to the puppies leaving my home.
