e HostTPZena: Good evening, everyone! I'm Zena from TeenPeople.com and I'm here tonight with Craig David. Craig is releasing his US debut, Born To Do It, tomorrow -- and there's hardly anything with more buzz on it. You can hear the entire thing in TeenPeople.com's Sound Lounge.... But Craig wants to take your questions now! Good evening, Craig! Craig David: Hi everyone -- it's good to be here. HostTPZena: Let's get right into the questions...From Jdrhythm... Question: Hey Craig. I've had an imported copy of your album for months, and I totally relate to your music (I've been telling everyone how awesome it is). I have a strong passion to become a music artist, and I wanted to know if you had any advice on how to start. Craig David: First, you have to have faith in your talent and make sure you can be seen and heard. Hopefully, luck will come your way. HostTPZena: From The Moffatts Fan.... Question: How have fame and fortune affected your life? Craig David: It hasn't changed me as a person, but you do have to understand and adapt to certain things. You should never forget where you come from and how much money is worth. HostTPZena: From Rafster98... Question: Hey CD..Word up...UK Fan here! Born To Do It was an amazing album, an I enjoyed many of the other unreleased songs...is there a new album coming soon in the UK? And any new collabration with the Artful Dodger? Rewind 2001 didn't feature you, so I was wondering if you going to do something new with them again? Anyway..peace from Scotland bro. Craig David: I'm going to be working with Mark Hill on the second album and hopefully, there will be some more Artful Dodger collaborations. But at the moment, I'm concentrating on the 2nd album. HostTPZena: From I Nawdii Babi I... Question: What do you look for in a girl? Craig David: Personality has to be strong. Someone who's ambitious; good sense of humor...and looks great! HostTPZena: From Fire Fly9920k... Question: Craig, where do you draw your inspiration to create such great songs? Craig David: Mainly from personal experience or things that I can fully relate with, as I find that it's the easiest way to write songs. HostTPZena: From Cee718... Question: Has your trip to the US turned out the way you wanted or expected? Craig David: I'm over the moon to have the opportunity to be over here promoting my debut album, but to have people relate to and embrace the songs is a phenomenal experience. So thank you! HostTPZena: From LadyMystikal29.. Question: Will you ever be touring in the U.S, and if so, when? Craig David: Hopefully, I'm going to be doing a full fledged tour soon, but at the moment, I'm scheduled to perform at Irving Plaza in New York tomorrow... HostTPZena: ...and I get to go! Craig David: ...the El Ray Theater in LA and back to NYC to perform at Central Park on the 22nd. It's free -- FREE FREE FREE Question: Do you play any instruments? Craig David: Yes -- the guitar. I wouldn't say I'm Eric Clapton, but I'm good enough. HostTPZena: From Kpanther83... Question: What's your most memorable fan encounter? -Kim aka "blue" Craig David: I'd say that fans in general -- when I was performing in Wales in the UK, everyone decided to throw knickers and thongs and bras at the stage. It was kind of a Tom Jones vibe, so it was crazy. HostTPZena: From OthaCarm... Question: So are you single or not? I'm a huge fan of yours and I'm so nervous right now. Craig David: I'm kind of nervous too...and yes, I am still single, so you never know. You may be in for a chance! HostTPZena: Everyone out there interested in a chance with Craig David can submit their requests to CraigDavid.com. **actual hookup with Craig David not guaranteed. 30 day money back guarantee on purchase. Question: How did you get started in the music business? Craig David: First started off as a DJ, and then got a break working with Mark Hill from the Artful Dodger. The sky's the limit! HostTPZena: And keep in mind...all this, and Craig is only 20. When did you start DJing? Craig David: When I was 14. I was lucky enough that my dad was the chairman of a nightclub, so that's how I was able to be out so late at a young age. HostTPZena: From Gurly Gurl 41413... Question: Craig, do you enjoy watching yourself on MTV and listening to yourself on the radio? Craig David: I enjoy it, but I get tired of seeing the same old face every day that I see in the mirror every time I wake up! But it's all good... HostTPZena: From TINKERBELL12383... Question: Would you ever date a fan? Craig David: I would, only if the fan could understand that I'm a human being and sometimes things can be different than what they look like on TV. HostTPZena: From PrInCeSsKj23... Question: Craig, who was your biggest inspiration in doing this? Craig David: A big inspiration for me was Terence Trent D'Arby. It was a massive learning curve to see how someone could have a massive first album and have a not-so-impressive second album. HostTPZena: How are you going to avoid the sophomore slump? Craig David: For me, it's important to use this information and make sure that I maintain my integrity, but grow as an artist naturally without losing the core base of people who have bought into my music. HostTPZena: From DiaMonDcUtMaMi... Question: Do you like to dance? Craig David: I love to dance. The question is -- with whom? HostTPZena: I hate to say it, but our time is up! I could sit here and chat with Craig all night, but he's got places to be... Thanks so much for joining us! Craig David: Thank you to everyone who has asked questions and allowed me to enjoy a relaxing half an hour talking to the beautiful people of America and the world. |
