The Moderates Show Their True Color...Yellow
(Posted 4/20/01)

Why is everyone so enamored of the so called moderates? They refuse to stands on tough issues and try to fool everyone into believing that they are above the divisive fray of party loyalties. It doesn't matter which side of the political spectrum you are on, a moderate is somebody who is afraid to make a stand. At least when addressing a liberal or conservative you know where they stand on issues. The moderates just try to slide through the tough decisions by not making one. To be afraid to take a stand can be summed up by one word...yellow.

The blatant example of their spineless tendencies is the ongoing crisis with China. On every newscast a moderate could be heard saying, "We must not offend China." They were holding our soldiers for no solid reason and these political hacks were afraid of offending a government that was holding POW's without a declaration of war. If you don't believe they were POW's, you need to read the accounts of the soldiers and they methods of questioning that were used. The oppressive communist thugs still hold our plane and the voices of the wimpy moderates can be still be heard, "We must not arm Taiwan for fear of offending the Chinese."

Maybe these cowardly officials are just confused about who they represent. Whether they are elected or an advisor to the President, they are supposed to be representing America's best interest. Instead, these weak-minded individuals choose to be in the lofty middle. It was bad enough when they tried to portray themselves as an alternative to Democrats and Republicans. Now it horrifying to find out that they are trying to choose the middle ground between our government and repressive regimes like those of China and Cuba. These pathetic, fence-riding characters are worried about offending the tyrants who crush the freedoms of the citizens that dwell in those countries.

Maybe the moderate aren't yellow after all. Maybe they are worse.
