                                         History of the "Cragar Car"

Built as a promotional piece for Cragar wheel industries this 1997 Boss Shinoda Mustang was hand built by Larry Shinoda (Team Shinoda) and Jim Klok (Klokworks Motorsports).  The Generation I Boss was completed by November 1, 1997 and was held in many regards as the ultimate Boss Mustang.  Unvieled at the 1997 SEMA (Specialty Equipment Market Association) shows the "Cragar Car" was concidered to be a testimony of Larry Shinoda's demand for perfection.
Origionally ordered in Ford Performance White the entire car was repainted in PPG Lincoln Pearl Metallic with blue/green metallic stripes to really make the car pop.  When the light hits the car just right a hint of blue tint can be seen that mates with the stripes perfectly.  Under the hood rests a set of Ford Racing heads, Paxton supercharger, custom chip, and 2 1/2" off road exhaust which helps propell the Cragar Car to 470 horsepower.  The S/S-980 wheels (17X8.5" front and 17X10" rear) were designed by Larry Shinoda especially for this car and were later produced by Cragar wheels on a limited production.  Everything on this car was designed for two reasons- to look great and to go fast!
Unfortunately Larry Shinoda only saw the completed car one time before he passed away just thirteen days after the completion of the vehicle making this the very last car that Mr. Shinoda made before he died.
To drive this machine is to experience true excellance in automotive engineering.  It is unfortunate that Mr. Shinoda is no longer with us however he has truely left his legacy behind with the ultimate flagship that is to stand as a tribute to what a performance vehicle should be.  In my opinion this car is perfection in every way and it is unfortunate that only a small handfull of people will ever know how true this is as to drive it is to understand what a Mustang should be, what a car should be.  It never fails, whenever I talk to somebody about the car I am almost always asked if I plan to modify it any more.  To this I simply answer... Why?
