I just sat down one night and came up with this pattern, I think it is almost too pretty to use as a potholder!

Materials
Cotton Worsted Weight Yarn in 2 Colors
Size H Crochet Hook
Beginning: With main color,Ch 5, join with a sl st to form a ring.
Make 2.
Rnd 1: Ch 3, 11 dc in ring. Join with sl st to top of first ch 3. (12 dc)
Rnd 2: Ch 3, dc in back loop of same st, 2 dc in back loop of each dc around. Join with sl st in top of beg ch 3. (24 dc)
Rnd 3: Ch 4, dc in same sp (V-st), *sk next dc, ( dc, ch1, dc ) in next sp. Repeat from * around. Join to top of beg ch 3. ( 12 V-sts)
Rnd 4: Join Contrasting color with sl st in any ch 1 sp. Ch 3, dc, ch1, 2 dc in same space. ( 2 dc, ch1, 2 dc ) in ea ch 1 sp around. Join with sl st to beg ch 3.
Rnd 5: sl st to in nx dc and in ch 1 sp, join main color with sl st in this ch 1 sp, Ch 4, 2 tr, ch 2, 3 tr in same sp. ( first corner made). * (sk nx 2 dc, Long dc in ch 1 sp of Rnd 4, sk nx 2 dc, 3 hdc in next ch sp ) 2 times. Sk nx 2 dc, Long dc in nx ch 1 sp of rnd 4,sk nxt 2dc, ( 3 tr, ch 2, 3 tr) in nx ch 1 sp. * Rep from * to * around. Sl st in top of ch 4 to join. Fasten off.
Rnd 6: Join contrasting color to free loop of round 3 with sl st. ch 1, sc in same st, * ch 3, sc in next st, repeat from * around. Join with sl st in top of first sc. Fasten off.
Joining: Hold squares with wrong sides together,with contrasting color, join with sl st in any corner space.
Rnd 1: Ch 1, 3 sc in same sp, * sc in ea st to nx corner, 3 sc in corner sp. * Repeat from * around. Join with sl st to first sc.
Rnd 2: Ch 1, sc in same st as joining. * ch 2, dc in nx st, ch 2, sc in nx st *. Repeat from * to * around. Join with sl st in first sc. Fasten off.
