Primary
Red, Yellow, and Blue
Secondary
Red and Blue = Purple
Yellow and Red = Orange
Blue and Yellow = Green
These three colors cannot be made from other colors. However, you can create secondary and intermediate colors by mixing some of these.
Secondary colors are made by mixing two primary colors. These colors have a lot of feeling to them.
Dark and Light
Black and White
These colors also cannot be made by mixing other colors.  They are often used to make colors darker or lighter.
Painting
I like to use Acrylic Paint, because of how well it works on wood, and the great color choices. I buy them in 2 ounce bottles.
At the price of 40-70 cents each, you can buy as many as you like, and it won't smash your budget for the rest of the supplies.
Experimenting
This is the best way to find out how to make some cool colors. Make sure you keep track of how much and what colors you are mixing. If you don't like the color you made, try adding a darker or lighter paint.

Intermediate, or Tertiary colors are made from mixing a Primary color, such as blue, with a Secondary color, such as purple. The result in this instance is Violet.
These colors are made from combinations of primary/primary, primary/secondary, or pre-made paint in bottles. Copy and paste to print. More are likely to come.
