Hi! My name is Margaret (Meg) Jackson of Pinney Bears from Youngsville, NC.  I am a Teddy Bear Artist and avid Teddy Bear collector. Bears are everywhere in my house - I love the little beasties!
When I was just a little thing, I was given a teddy bear. The teddys name was Pinney Bear.  Pinney Bear was a great friend and went everywhere with me. She even traveled on our family vacations to various wonderful places in the United States, Canada and abroad.
After moving to North Carolina with my husband and kitties four years ago, I found a two-piece teddy pattern in one of my boxes and decided to try making a teddy. Smokey turned out pretty well but I wanted to try making one with legs and arms that moved. So I purchased a jointed teddy pattern and havent stopped making bears since.
I now design my own bears. Each one is a little different since I am always tweaking the patterns in some way.  Most of my bears are made from mohair and are stuffed using excelsior, polyfill, cedar chips, glass, steel and/or plastic beads.  Some of the larger bears have a growler in their tummy. They are all fully jointed using cotter pin joints.
One of my favorite things about bear making is finishing the teddys face I just love to see their expressions and those little eyes looking back at me. It makes me smile every time.
I hope they make you smile too!
Bear Hugs,
Meg.
