name is Marilyn Cathers. I was born and raised in
Nevada City, California, USA. My great grandfather
and great grandmother settled in the gold country in
1856. Currently I recide in Post Falls,a small town
in Northern Idaho, USA
I am a cloth doll maker. I sew fine quality,
lovable, cuddly, OOAK, (one of a kind) washable cloth dolls.
My handmade dolls are soft sculpture, jointed,
Comfort Kid Dolls.
I have been creating patterns for dolls and clothes
most of my life. I always make quality items that are durable and made to play with. My dolls are suitable for kids of all ages
In 1983 I started sewing Comfort Kids Dolls for my
own children. Before long many other people wanted the
dolls for their children, grand children and for themselves.
I now have created a number of different dolls.
22" toddlers, 22" binky babies, 16" wee ones, 16'' wee binky babies and 14" preemie puppet babies.The preemie puppet
babies are wonderful hand puppets for pre-school
and children of all ages.
I am working on a smaller, thinner, newborn baby and a smaller preemie baby which will soon be available on my website.
I sew all of the hand crafted dolls and clothes myself. Some of my clothes are hand knitted doll clothes. It takes time to make them and get them ready for sale. I also take orders for custom made dolls or
clothes. I really enjoy creating new clothes patterns for my dolls.
